Location was fantastic! The ladders for stairs were a bit difficult for some of our older family and were not quite apparent in the photos. The loft area was very awkward having to constantly duck under beams. Between the beams you can stand straight up if you are 5â6â or under. Loft area is also fairly dark, needs more lighting to be able to see your clothes and in suitcases. There was a terrible mildew/mold smell in entrance area and bathroom/toilet room. So bad that our clothes still smelled of it after we got home. We had to keep the door the entrance area closed the entire time. For one or 2 nights this place would be great especially with a large group. Anything more than that and the ladders and low ceilings become uncomfortable.
What a fantastic location and great place for a big family. The location could not be better especially for an athlete for the Ironman and her spectators with the race start and finish steps away. The place accommodated our large group including young children. We are tall with many above 6 feet but the upstairs ceiling really was fine. Bernard, our host, communicated very well and answered many questions timely. If you are only here for vacation the location of this place for a large group is fantastic. Restaurants, market, promenade, beach and tram are so close to the place.
It was a great spot for our family of 12. We didnât expect the ceilings in the rooms overhead to be so low but luckily we are not tall people. Beautifully decorated and smack in the middle of old town so itâs super convenient. Really beautiful place. Only thing was WiFi was weak and we couldnât get TVs to work. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
Bernard is a very accommodating host who refunded a night from our reservation when we were unable to arrive on time due to the French train strike. The apartment has a fully stocked kitchen with spices and condiments, functioning dishwasher and coffee machine, washing machine and dryer, three toilets and three showers, five double beds and a bunch of fold out couches. It is in a fun neighborhood near a street market that is open every day from 9-13, next door to the opera/ballet, and one block from the beaches. However, you can't see the beach from the apartment because there is a tall building in between, and because the only windows in the place are frosted and start at 2 meters off the floor. The building seems to have been quite grand at one time, with 3.4 meter ceilings. But the owner has since divided this apartment into two floors, each of which is too short for the average man, with very steep stairs (ladders, really) up to the upper four rooms--not a good place for anybody with mobility issues. The upstairs ceilings are so low that even a short woman like me (157 cm) can't walk across the upstairs bedrooms without ducking to avoid the 40 cm ceiling joists that stick down into the room. Privacy is quite limited in these rooms as they have sliding windows for walls, covered by curtains. There are also small floor level changes in the entry way that we kept tripping over. The oddest thing about the place is the many "warning notes" from the owner to the tenants saying "don't put anything in the drain, don't take a bath in the shower, don't make any noise, etc." The place is right upstairs from a club that plays music in the late evening, so the directive to be quiet seemed a little unjust. In addition, we had to make our own beds despite paying 240 in linen and cleaning fees. Overall, it is a funky place that worked for our purposes, but had we known about the ceilings, we would have looked for a more normal place at this price.
Best location! We walked around Nice and glad we pick this location. Close to all restaurant, bar, beach.. the market was right next to the condo and we were able to enjoy fresh produce for lunch. Host was very nice, on time and made sure we were comfortable. Condo was spacious and the 2 in one setup was great since we got privacy between the condos
