Your family will be close to Florida’s most beautiful beaches when you stay at this centrally-located cottage!
Nokomis beach and the North Jetty are less than 2 miles away and the famous Siesta Key is only a 15-20 minute drive. Visit Oscar Scherer State Park, just 2.5 miles away. Extremely close to multiple grocery stores, restaurants, and boat ramps all less than a 10 minute drive from our loved vacation home .

We cannot recommend this property. It was very sparsely furnished, with mostly thrift style furniture, cookware, containers for cooked food storage, no blankets, had only 4 towels and 1 wash cloth at check-in. Needed a more thorough cleaning and needed decent broom and mop for cleaning during our three-week stay. No end tables in TV room, 2nd-bedroom nor lamps for either. No grab bars in showers, no closet in the Master bedroom. The master bathroom had an inoperative outlet, and upon calling the owner, he came and fixed the outlet, as well as the inoperative deadbolt in the patio doors in the master bedroom. The seating area by the pond in the ad is unusable due to hurricane damage from approx. 2023. A blue tarp is still on the roof and the hallway ceiling shows damage. This property is old and rundown, and difficult to get in and out of as it sits on a four lane 45 mph road. We believe this property is not up to VRBO standards.

Don't rent this property

The inside of the property was clean. Rented this property in May 2024 for Feb1-28 2025. The listing says 4BR, 2BA. There was 3 BR, not 4. Pictures show a pond in the backyard with a quaint little sitting area. That was not there.the yard was a mess. I had to go buy cleaning products to clean the octagon outdoor table as it had mold all over it. There were at least 10 piles of what appeared to be charcoal ash spread all over the back lawn. A few days in I realized it was not ash as another one had appeared. It was some type of animal or large insect infestation. The host and I went back and forth about the misrepresentation of bedrooms and pond. He claimed he purchased the property as a 4 BR. I told him that was not true as I looked up the real estate listing and it was listed and purchased by him and presumably his wife as a 3BR. He admitted that the photos on VRBO was over 2 years old. I suspected that the pond was there at one time . I did email him around December and asked if there was any hurricaine damage. He said yes, there were a few roof shingles missing, no leaks, was tarped. The fence blew down but has been repaired and the gate fell down and has not been put back. It was at that time he should have been honest and told me that there was no pond or sitting area. He has sjnce altered the listing a little on VRBO. There was water damage in the ceiling in the long hallway and the repair was poorly done. We left on Feb 19 with no compensation from him. tting area

Decent location to the beaches.

We recently stayed at this rental and found it to be a decent option for the price. It’s not a high-end rental, but it offers good value for the money. The location was convenient, there was plenty of space, and communication with the host was excellent.However, there are a few areas for improvement. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep. The property is also located on a very busy street, which made it a little hard to get in and out. Additionally, the lighting inside the rental was quite limited—it could benefit from more lamps in each room. We also noticed a lack of basic furniture like end tables or nightstands in the bedrooms, as well as side tables in the living room.Overall, while the rental has its drawbacks, it’s a reasonable choice if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option with ample space and a good location.

Property was clean. Manager was responsive to questions. We did need to buy washcloths and extra towels. We also needed to buy bed linens for the pull out sofas-we were told that we needed to have requested the use of the sofas when the reservations were made in order to have access to linens.

Great place! Easy to get to and plenty of room. Couple of things
. More and better quality of towels, pillows, kitchen supplies (paper towels, dish clothes to wash with, etc.) Maybe find a way to add some more lighting rather than over head. Such a wonderful place! We loved it!
