Weekly rental, Saturday to Saturday between Memorial Day and Labor Day... We offer flexible 3 night minimum options durning off season months.

Multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces offering something for everyone. Our home is a classic OIB construction completely renovated with a modern feel. This gives you less steps than the taller new construction homes!

Located at the corner of East 2nd Street and Concord Street. Most guest love spending time on the front covered porch (facing 2nd Street) with view of the ocean and great “people watching” on OIB’s active 2nd Street. The back covered porch is more private and has a relaxing view of the canal, the pool and our dock.

The Canal... For boat-owner guests, the private canal dock provides direct access to the ICW. We built a new all aluminum dock in the spring of 2021. At lowest tide there is water but please operate a boat with caution as the canals can get low in places.

Don’t forget to book your boat charter! It will be an unforgettable evening with your family. Charters can pick you up on your very own private dock and go sightseeing or to dinner at one of the many waterfront restaurants including the historic Calabash. Several options from dinner trips to calabash, sunset cruise, day trip to Bald Head Island, etc, etc.

Kitchen has all new appliances with modern kitchen layout and design.

- The home has 5 bedrooms. 1 private suite and 2 sets of 2 rooms connected by full bathrooms.
- Main Level: 3 bedrooms and 2 baths
- Master bedroom suite with private bath (king bed)
- Two rooms have joint bath one with a king bed and one with two sets of twin bunks (4 twins beds)
- Ground Level: 2 bedrooms and 1 bath
- Two rooms have joint bath one has a queen bed and the other has a bunk (full bed on bottom and twin bed on top).
- Ground level rooms have private entrances for convenience.
- All bedrooms offer wireless phone charging.
- All rooms are heated and cooled with modern and efficient HVAC systems with easy to use thermostats

Indoor common areas:

- Electric car (EV) charging outlet using your “mobile kit” (14-50 outlet 50 amp) located in car port area.
- Gas Grill available.
- Outdoor Shower stall located next to pool for easy cleaning after a day at the beach.

NO smoking/NO pets please. This includes no smoking on the artificial turf.

OIB is one of the safest vacation destinations you will find. However to add security to our property as well as your property and your well being, the house has surveillance cameras in the carport area. Please asked for details and VRBO security rules. One is positioned to cover all front and ground floor entry points as well as vehicles. The other covers back entry points, backyard, pool and dock.

Great boat access and quick walk to the beach. We loved having the pool too. The owner was easy to communicate with and was quick to respond. Unfortunately, the one of the beds broke but they came to replace that evening with all new furniture.

Multi generation family all found something to love about this house. Beach time, pool time, dock time and rest time. Everything we needed for the week was there. Bring your own beach gear or rent from a local business. Fish and crab on the dock. We will return.

We had a great time at Brad’s place. The location is excellent and it was great to have a pool available when we got tired of being sandy in the afternoons. They did a nice remodel to this house. Brad was very responsive and helpful to all our inquiries as well.

 this house is amazing. It was our first time to OIB but not our last and we want to stay here again! the bedrooms were great for our blended families and the bathrooms each had a walk in shower - very nice!

We had a wonderful time at OIB. We had a small issue with the code on the door but Brad was great at adjusting and helping us problem solve. Having the pool was a great break from the sand and beach and the house was big and roomy for all of us!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time at Brad’s place. It’s beautifully decorated, had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The beach is a very short walk & the pool was nice to cool off in after a fun day at the beach. We loved sitting in the rockers every morning. Our grandchildren ages 6 months to eleven loved this property. Both the pool and the dock for fishing were winners! Overall great location but road noise was an issue for our downstairs family. While the downstairs was clean, the rooms are very dark and small. No dressers for clothing. I almost felt bad for the family that ended up downstairs because it wasn’t the same standard as the upstairs. The kitchen is VERY well stocked with all the cooking and eating necessities you will need.

Another great week in OIB

This was our second summer staying at this beach house. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We love the close proximity to the beach, the pool and the layout of the home. We didn’t need to message the property owner for anything during our stay. We loved the new rockers on the front porch this year. Looking forward to staying here again in the future!

Location Location

This house is in a great location and the pool was a great place to hang out with our extended family members. We have stayed here before and the house has been updated over the years. The only reason we would be unlikely to stay here again is the musty air in the downstairs bedrooms. Despite using the ductless air and dehumidifier consistently, there is still dampness in the air. I would also recommend providing cheap beach chairs for the season for convenience of the guests. Otherwise the house is fantastic and close to everything.

Location, location, location and then some

Nice OIB property, very clean and well supplied. Short walk to the beach and on those too-hot-to-go-to-the-beach days, the poolside life was delightful. We're kayakers and SUPers, so being right on the canal was an extra plus. The mustiness from being closed up dissipated 95% after the air conditioners kicked in to exchange the air. We have a few highly allergic/asthmatic folks in our group and had NO PROBLEMS with the air quality!!! I would have rated it 4.75 stars if I could; only drawback was no interior access to the beds and bath downstairs. The teenagers who lived down there for a week would probably have given a 7 star rating for that very same reason. We would not hesitate to book it again when we come back to OIB.

Great location-2 bedrooms downstairs have issues

We had great communication with the homeowner up to the point of having issues with the refrigerator and AC upon arrival. The refrigerator had a difficult time keeping up with the transition of guests, but began working by the next morning. It still didn't keep drinks extremely cold. The AC did not get fixed until the next day and it took until late into the night for it to cool down. The contact number left for the homeowner was incorrect, but we were able to get in touch with the VRBO app. The downstairs bedrooms have a dehumidifier that is not mentioned in the descriptions. The first morning we woke up the linens and items in the room were damp. We had to empty the dehumidifier twice each day in order for it to work. When reaching out to the homeowner he took longer to respond AND said that it wouldn't be fixed until Saturday....the day we were leaving. We had to continue to empty twice a day. When reaching out about our concern, we never heard a reply from the homeowner. This is not acceptable service. You also have to go outside and come into the house for access to the kitchen and living area. Also, the home had dog hair on the cushions and rugs outside. We had a guest allergic to dogs and when I reached out to ask about whether there had been dogs present, I was again heard nothing. We asked for a price adjustment for our issues, which were many, but still have not heard a reply. We will obviously not be staying at this home again, which is sad because it is a great location.

Perfect family vacation

My family loves to vacation in OIB and this was our first year at this property. We absolutely loved the location - it’s a corner lot on the canal so you don’t have neighbors right on top of you and there is a public beach access one block away. The smaller sized pool and fenced in yard were perfect for our small children. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It was also kid-friendly which was a huge plus! We loved the front and back porches for morning and evening relaxing. It was very easy to communicate with the owner, although we didn’t really need anything. We usually like to try a new beach house every summer but we enjoyed our stay here so much, we already booked it for next year!

Family Beach Trip

We enjoyed our week at this property! It’s perfect for family! The owner is great to work with. The location on the island is great to walk to the beach as well as the shops and restaurants.

Wonderful property 1 block from beach

We loved our experience at this property. The owner was very responsive and I only had a few questions to ask. The dock was perfect for a fishing break from the beach and the pool was a definite bonus. Would gladly stay at this location again in Ocean Isle.
