The location of this property is GREAT. It is right on the beach and almost equidistance between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach so it is easy to find places to eat. However, the property is very dated and the communication with the rental company was spotty at best.
We had to reach out to the rental company to find out how to pay our balance. We asked about check-in procedures and they told us our check-in was after 4:00 PM at the resort. When we got there at 4:45 PM, we were told we had to go to another building because it was close to 5:00 PM and they had transferred all check-in packages to the other building. This added an additional 45 minutes to our check-in time.
Once we got to the room, we found that the freeze would not make ice (it would only leak water onto the floor so we had to turn it off), the laundry "room" doors were off their track and just hanging there (I had to fix that), the fan in the main room oscillated so badly that at one point we heard electrical pops so we turned it off for the duration of our stay, the molding round the wainscot was coming off in places, the electrical outlets would spark when chargers were plugged in (and cause all the other lights on the circuit to flicker), and the wi-fi password was reset by the IT company and the password was not communicated to us (that took over an hour to get addressed).
Normally we stay at places like Turquoise Place during Spring Break (when the price is more reasonable) so we may be spoiled but I was VERY disappointed with this stay. If we stay at a Phoenix property again, it will be one of the new ones. I would recommend that the property owners seriously look at updating not just this unit but all the units at Phoenix I - V.
