First, let me say that the house capacity was a great value for the price.
However, if youâre pickier than me, there are things youâll want to know. The pool was dirty, like the filter wasnât working properly and when we called about it, they âsent someone outâ who added cold water to it but didnât address the dirt and debris at the bottom of the pool. They left the hose out by the pool which propped the back gate open and was easy to trip over.
We paid for the hot tub and pool to be heated. They were cold when we got there and the hot top switch didnât work so the jets didnât turn on. They sent someone out the next day and the pool was warmer but the hot tub never got hot. Maybe hot tubs are different in the south? Idk. Youâll probably need to call to make sure the heat is actually turned on because Iâm not sure it would have been had we not called.
The ceiling fan, light, and bedside lamp didnât work in the upstairs queen bedroom, which made the room (and the entire upstairs) very warm for sleeping. We called about this and they said they had to order a new remote for the ceiling fan/light. We never saw this come to fruition in the 10 days we were there. They never replaced the bedside lamp bulb which meant the room was only lit by one bedside lamp- not ideal.
Note: The location provides minimal essentials for the 10 days we stayed: one garbage bag, one dishwasher pod, one roll of paper towel, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. We didnât realize this before coming- probably missed it in the fine print of the reservation. Not a big deal but we didnât know before coming so had to do some extra shopping.
The property can be difficult to get into with the guard gate. There can be a line that takes a bit to get through. We used Uber/Lyft to get around and I think renting a car would have been easier.
This property is run by a larger property management group so while you can get ahold of people with concerns, they donât have ownership interest in the outcome. When we asked for late check out because our flight was later in the afternoon and our transport wasnât coming until noon, they charged us $70 for 2 hours. On the balance, I thought was tacky given the fact we didnât have lights in one room the entire trip and the pool was dirty.
I think some people would have left or filed a claim given some of the issues but Iâm not all that fussy and I have kids so donât expect super nice accommodations while traveling.
The house was nice and and close to Disneyworld. The neighborhood was nice. We stayed for Christmas, but there was not Christmas tree in the rental (Which is pretty standard when we stay places for Christmas) After the stay, we got charged for extra cleaning (there isn't a checklist for cleaning and the house was clean) and a PS4 remote that was broken (it was broken when we got there). While we stayed, we got charged every day for a heated pool that worked 2 out of 11 days. It is impossible to get a hold of people afterwards.
Check in process was a nightmare. Booked and paid thru VRBO, then got email from Magical Vacation Rentals notifying me that I would have to provide them with pictures of my ID, Credit Card and a utility bill or my reservation would be canceled. I had never experienced this before. I was then informed that because I was arriving late in the evening that I would have to drive 20 min. To their management office and fill out additional paper work the next morning or my door codes would become invalid. After checking in I noticed that the TV in the living room would not turn on even by pressing the power switch on the TV itself. The AC in the arcade room would not turn on and displayed a E3 error code. This left the room uncomfortably hot. 2 of the games in the arcade room did not work. The screen on the pool inclosure was not attached in 3 different locations which led to lots of leaves and bugs on the patio and in the pool. Took about 20 min each morning to skim all the stuff out of the pool. When I went to the management office the next morning I informed the staff member of my issues. He told me that they would send someone out to fix all the problems. No one ever came. Issues were still going on 4 days later. I will say that the house was very clean and well equipped.
This house is a perfect house to stay at when visiting Disney. You can be in the parking lot of the four parks in ten minutes from this property. This made our daily commute easy and painless. The house is beautiful and clean and was perfect for our extended family staying for the week. The only thing keeping this review from being a 5 star was issues with the pool. The screen is broken above the hot tub which left it scattered with debris of leaves and other items in the pool area. This could have been picked up before out arrival to make it more appealing. The rental company charged an additional fee of $245 to turn on the heater in the pool. I thought that was a little excessive when its simply a little extra electricity and should have been included with the rental. We had one "off" day of the week where we planned on staying in the villa and enjoying the pool area. The breaker was tripped the whole time and the heat was never turned on. After a phone call they came at the end of the day to check it out and flipped the breaker and turned the heat on. I was told the hot tub would be at 110 degrees within an hour and the overflow water would heat the pool quickly. The hot tub nor the pool ever heated up which left them unusable for the trip. The water was freezing in both. Luckily they have a large pool with water slides at the clubhouse so we were able to use those to compensate on the off day. The rental company did refund the $245 for the heat never being turned on but I feel we should have been offered a partial refund for not being able to use the pool or hot tub the entire week when this was a factor when selecting the property. The arcade was a nice touch and the kids and grown ups loved it. I wish the racing game was working properly as my son was super excited about it when we showed him the photos but only one side worked so we were unable to race each other as planned. All in all we were happy with the stay. If not for the issues with the pool the property would have exceeding expectations.
The property was very nice. Easy in and out. Close to everything. My main concern was the pool, I didn't do the parks myself, I packed books and was looking to swim, soak up some sun, and relax. We did pay for heat for pool and spa ahead of time. The day we arrived we thought it would take maybe a little longer to warm up. So waited to the next morning to ask maintenance to check it out. They were very friendly said they would send someone out. Later that day someone came told my husband that the pool and hot tub was very low temp. Also a older system. Temp was only 75 not 104. Tried to reset the breaker but it kept flipping off about 20 min. Later. No heat for either. My husband remarked that if it couldn't be fixed would we get the money for pool heat back. No real answer until a text reminding us about the contract that we signed and suggested that the temperature of florida could affect the pool heat. No one's near by pools seemed to have any problems. Called again for help was told they would send someone. No one came. I was there all day. No heat for pool or hot tub all week. Although disappointed, the place was very nice and comfortable. Thank you
We really enjoyed our time at Windsor Hills. They were very responsive at getting back to us and met all our needs as a family. Would recommend to any family. The game room was so fun for our kids.
3 of the main games my son wanted to play werenât working and no one came out until the 3rd day of my 4 night stay to reset them and they still didnât work!
While we spent most of our time at the Disney parks (which are very close to this house, BTW), when we came home it was so much FUN! My son LOVED the video games and air hockey and my daughter enjoyed having her own bathroom! The rest of the family (adults) were very happy too, with the kitchen, rooms, and heated spa after a long day in lines! Highly recommend!
