The hotel has decided to house families, presumably through Government funding. Subsequently, the corridors and car park are overrun with kids and there is a constsnt smell of cooking food. There is no breakfast, no room cleaning during my stay, no coffee in the room, no cups plastic or otherwise.... I have no problem with the residents but the owners shouldn't sell rooms as though they're a full service hotel. The first night I was rudely awoken by banging, screaming, cursing and a fight outside my door. The one saving grace was the front desk staff who were above and beyond helpful and friendly.

Beds and room were clean enough, and comfortable. Bathroom wasn’t the cleanest but passable. I believe this site is used as temporary refugee housing so it was noisy, and people were cooking in the rooms so it was definitely an unorthodox hotel stay. There was a significant domestic disturbance in the middle of the night from some of the temporarily housed individuals which highlighted the need for potential additional security.

Not satisfied that there was no disclosure that the Hotel was being used for Refugee housing!!! I should have my money refunded. Not a place I would’ve chosen to stay…..this was taken outside our room door

So bad that we couldn't stay, it was prepaid so no refund was given. Also they charged an additional $50 damage deposit that they wouldn't refund. Terrible spot and service!

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it was great for a budget friendly location. Back then, the whole property was clean, safe and even included complimentary breakfast. Fast forward to April 2025. Upon arrival, the first red flag was seeing a guy changing his snow tires in the parking lot and multiple cars without liscence plates parked there. As we entered the hotel, it was very obvious that things have changed and we were told by staff that 50% of this hotel is now being used as housing for refugees and asylum seekers coming into Canada. We were also told that most hotels in the Ottawa area were doing the same and being funded by the government for this. We have stayed at various hotels in the Ottawa area over the past 5 years, and I can say we have never experienced that before. Our room was relatively clean, however we did question if the bed sheets have been changed since the last guest. The fan in the bathroom did not work, resulting in very steamy and damp environment from taking a shower. The rest of the property is getting very run down with lots of kids running around and making noise. The small green space/courtyard is completey run down and full of kid's bicycles. On our way down to the main floor, the elevator stopped on the 3'rd floor and we were surprised to see a literal parking lot of strollers at the elevator area. The people that checked us and out were friendly, so thats a plus. We will not be staying here again and cannot recommend this hotel.

This property was very dated. Did not have many amenities. Property was noisy, in need of repair and very busy. For the price of nightly rate, we expected a little more. The immigration and housing crisis played a huge role in affecting the quality of our stay. Front desk and housekeeping staff were helpful and polite.
