La Casa Pina Pacifica near La Fortuna
Play all day in La Fortuna and Arenal, then relax at La Pina Pacifica.
This beautiful house, located in a peaceful area just minutes from La Fortuna and Arenal. Equipped with custom-built kitchens on each level. The folding glass doors on the main floor open up onto the pool and outdoor space, ideal for entertaining or experiencing Pura Vida in your own sanctuary. The second floor balcony is perfect for morning coffee, bird watching and evening yoga during the infamous Costa Rica sunset. The nearby area is fantastic for nature lovers and adventurers and loaded with hot springs and waterfalls, educational tours, chocolate and sloths!
Complimentary wi-fi and Nexflix. Bedrooms are air conditioned. Bedrooms are on the second floor, accessible by stairs and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
We had a good visit. Beds were comfortable enough. If I were to go back to La Fortuna, I would probably stay closer to the town. It was about a 30 min drive of country roads. The house was as pictured - but the first floor is only accessible from stairs that are outside- not sure whyâŠbut it meant we really didnât use the first floor except for one dinner. Esp when we had pouring rain. We had to kill a few big water bugs / cockroaches.
There are so many things we loved that I am going to put this into bullets:- La Casa Pina has added a new life goal to our list...walls that open up to make the inside outside to catch all the fresh air, smells, and sounds.- Every morning we would do yoga and coffee up on the balcony to watch all the birds nearby (so many to list, but don't worry, they also had some super handy reference guides to identify all the birds and animals we saw!). - We were able to make fresh hibiscus tea from the garden in the evenings. - We were able to find iguanas and cane toads (the Beware of the Frog sign is not kidding... but he was friendly, just don't touch or wash your hands). - The host (Christine) and her local contact (Carlos) and caretaker next door (Eduardo) are all lovely and helpful. The local man who comes by everyday(Eduardo) brought us fresh coconuts and helped explain some of the crops he grows in the area. - Chachagua (close by) has an amazing bakery that we ended up visiting almost daily.- the laundry facilities fully stocked was greatly appreciated mid-trip along with the garden hose to pre-wash the mud from when we got soaked on a hike (our shoes needed it!).- The pool felt so good on the sunny days and the surroundings are so peaceful. We took a day to just hang out here and enjoy the sun!- We had some issues with the payment system, but Christine worked hard to help resolve it, thank you.Overall, it was a wonderful experience and my family loved it.
We had a lovely stay at Pina Pacifica.
The property managers are wonderful and committed to ensuring your stay is memorable.
They are local and Communication was great both before and during.
Location is in a rural area about 25 minutes drive to La Fortuna. The town of Chachagua is about 8 minute drive where there are stores and markets. We picked up fresh meats and vegetables there. Also, Quinchoâs pizza there is delicious!
The house setup, while quirky, worked great for our family of 6.
Both bedrooms are upstairs and have individual AC units. Upstairs had a kitchenette with small fridge and induction stove top, smaller den with couch and TV, and a bathroom/shower.
Downstairs, there was a larger kitchen and island bar seating for 6, plus another bathroom with shower, large den with couch and big TV. Wi-Fi worked well the entire stay.
To get downstairs, one must go outside and down the exterior steps and re-enter the house on the bottom level.
My favorite feature of the house were the big folding doors on the bottom level that opened completely to the private pool.
There is a remote operated gate to drive in and the entire property is fenced.
The doors both upstairs and down do not have seals, so we did have some bugs inside the house (beetles, ants, roachesâŠthis is the rainforest afterall).
One area for improvement is general cleanliness (window sills, under couches). Hosts were receptive to this feedback.
Overall would love to return and thank you for sharing your home!
Modern 2 story, a 20 minute drive from exciting La Fortuna. Enjoyed the air conditioned bedrooms to sleep at night. Enrique the groundskeeper took wonderful care of the pool & brought us fresh coconuts.
