Staff lovely. Bed comfy, sheets and towels clean. The room was ok but the shower room was full of black mould. In the room damp by the window. Really cold despite having a plug in heater. Expedia sold this as a stay with breakfast included, which it was not All in all disappointed. We have received a partial refund

Good alternative if Tebay services hotel is full!

Clean, tastefully decorated room with old photos of local scenes. Tea & coffee-making facilities in room, excellent bar meal - everything you need really. In quiet rural village but within easy reach of motorway.

Bank Holiday weekend

We had such a fantastic stay this weekend, perfect location. The hosts are simply wonderful, lovely little pub, great atmosphere and the meals are sooo good, including breakfast which were insanely good! We'll definitely be back and will recommend The George for our friends and family to stay!

Excellent! Value for money!

From arrival the staff were friendly and helpful, asked if we wanted help with our bags, took breakfast order night before which meant when we went for breakfast there was no waoting around, the breakfast itself was lovely! Room was in keeping with the local aesthetic, but modern and well kept. Can't fault the place at all!

Good value inn in village setting

We had an overnight stay at The George on our way home from holiday and it was ideally located just off the M6. The owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly and we had a very nice evening meal and an excellent breakfast. The room was a little old fashioned, but was clean and comfortable.

for the price this was excellent value. the room was simple, spotless and exactly met me needs for stopover between south wales and dundee.. The bed was really firm and very comfortable. Staff really and welcome friendly, food standard pub grub served with a smile. breakfast very nicely done and my being veggie not a problem. i plan to stay there again as i make this trip regualrly

Excellent value for money. Pleasant, helpful hosts

Solo overnight stay. Nice welcome by hosts after a long journey. Room was big and airy, bed very comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast were lovely. There is an attached beer garden and the breeze in the evening was most appreciated,especially after the long hot journey. Felt comfortable throughout my stay Hope to book again on my return trip back to Scotland.

Charming accommodations above the pub in the tiny village of Orton. Very scenic English farming community. Room was clean and spacious. Easy to access off M6 but felt very remote. Owners were very gracious and welcoming.
