Resort canceled reservation 24 hours prior to arrival
Resort called 24 hours prior to arrival stating that the owners want to use their condo during our stay, so were upgraded us to a three bedroom unit--- 18 hours prior to arrival they called and asked if we could come at a differ time since the unit we were upgraded to "needed work". Since we had plane tickets and taken time off we decided not to change out plans.
The unit we were given was in a word "disgusting". The tile and counter tops were painted over and peeling. Even the light switches and towel bars were painted with wall paint and were peeling. The unit was stuffed with too much furniture-most of the furniture was old and run down. The carpet was the original carpet from the 80s. The closets were filled with junk- so we couldn't hang our close.
This, by far, was the worst rental I have ever seen.
We booked the initial unit because we found it on VRBO and assumed that VRBO rules and standards apply---as it turned out this rental was thru the resort, VRBO was only the advertiser. VRBO should reconsider this type of arrangement since it seriously tarnished your brand. If you would like documentation I have multiple pictures I could send you.
