Ia Ora Na , Thank you for choosing to stay at the Le Méridien Tahiti and providing your honest feedback. Thank you for letting us know about the issue of the balcony chairs. Please be assured your comments have been shared with the manager of the department involved for corrective actions. We hope you will choose to create more memories here whenever your travels bring you back to Tahiti. Warm regards,

The Le Meridien is tired, needs updating.

Location: The location is poor, seemed unsafe to walk around.
The hotel grounds were poorly maintained, and old. The rooms were clean, however the furniture was cheap (plastic chairs), and needed updating. We are ok with the roosters, and feral cats on the property, however there were several stray dogs too.

We are most grateful to you for having brought to our attention some aspects of our services that did not meet the usual standards one may expect from a Méridien hotel. We do apologize for the inconveniences occurred. We are pleased to inform you that our owner has planned renovation in the future months. We trust that you will not judge us solely on the basis of your bad experience and you will accept that this inconvenience is not reflective of our normal standards. We sincerely hope you will have the opportunity to travel again here and that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you at Le Meridien Tahiti to prove you that a stay with us should always be filled of pleasant memories. Warm regards,

Overnight stay before heading to Bora Bora

Pros: Nice clean bungalows, beautiful landscaping, sweet cat that visited each table at breakfast :)
Cons: The railing around the bungalow was very loose and could stand to be replaced.
We arrived around 10:30pm after a long flight from LA. The reception checked us in quickly and provided a nice upgrade to an overwater bungalow. The property is older and still in very good shape. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and you can tell that the staff takes great pride in ensuring the property is well taken care of. After a comfy night's sleep we had the buffet breakfast in the main dining area. The service was slow, however the food was good. It was the perfect stop for the 10 hour layover we had before heading on to Bora Bora.

Hotel needs some major updating.

Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful.
Location: Not too far from airport but not centrally located to much else.
This was probably a premier hotel at one time but that time is long past.

Definitely not worth 4 stars

Outside & Lobby is an eye sore. Staff didn't know of any restaurants in town. Asked front desk to mail postcards and they never did. Safe was broken. Bugs flying around our room. Roosters were walking around the hallways and were crowing from 3am on. Cant believe star wood group would even claim this hotel. I would never pay $400 for a room. I understand Tahiti is pricey but we stayed at another hotel for $100 more and there was no comparison whatsoever.

Great place to stay...if you can afford it.

Pros: The staff and amenities
Cons: Lack of working, english programming. Faster in room internet.
Location: Not close (or cheap) to down town. Several local shops and a few restaurants within walking distance, along with a supermarket.
Our stay at the hotel was pleasant. Due to the crazy Air Tahiti flight schedules to and from LAX, we arrived to Le Meridien several hours before check-in, 8am to be exact. Naturally, our room was nowhere near ready, but the staff put our bags in to storage free of charge and gave us access to the transition room, which has several couches, a/c, and 3 bathrooms/showers. We cleaned up and headed in to town. Once we returned, we immediately checked in. For this trip we chose to stay in one of the overwater bungalows. It was very nice, with all hardwood floors, seperate bath and shower and king size bed. It even includes a small patio that overlooks the lagoon so you can have lunch while watching fish swim around the coral reef. My only gripe about the rooms in general is that there was only 1 english channel that seemed to work half the time (not to mention it being a Miami station for some odd reason), so staying in and watching TV wasn't much of an option. Internet was also expensive, and SLOW. As for the rest of the hotel, you have direct beach access, a white sand pool, two restaurants, and two bars. Considering that everything close to the resort seemed to be closed, this was the only way to survive. If you happen to be there at the right time, there's a great little food truck you can walk to south of the resort on the main highway. I believe it's open Tues-Sat, so check it out if you don't feel like hotel food. Overrall, we had a good stay at Le Meridien.

Luxury hotel near Papeete.

I normally don't stay at luxury accommodations however a friend I meet up with wanted to stay there. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and competent. There were a few "noseums" in the outdoor dinning so be prepared with some repellent. The coy pond is beautiful.

Trip to Paradise

Pros: The staff, food, rooms, hot water in shower, clean, pleasant atmosphere, and beautiful ocean view.
Cons: Stairs into the lagoon from bungalow could be nice.
Our experience at the Meredien Tahiti was exceptional. We had the overwater bungalow for two nights and then a deluxe suite for 3 nights. The staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is beyond expectations and will go to great lengths to fulfill your desires. This place is surreal and beyond all expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had a fabulous time in Tahiti. Food: excellent Room: excellent Overall hotel: exceptional

Great stay!!

Pros: Friendly staff, clean, well appointed rooms.
Cons: The restaurant!! Our meal at Le Carre was awful. The fish wasn't fresh (nothing worse than the smell of old fish) and the texture was mushy. Sauce bad
We loved this place. Great staff. The overwater bungalows are roomy and comfortable. We snorkeled in the area near them every day, the water is so clear. Lots of fish.

Amazingly Friendly Staff

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: expensive breakfast
Great hotel. Clean rooms. Very beautiful snorkeling off of the beach. Taxi was expensive traveling back and forth to the airport. Can't wait to go back!
