Coconut Grove is a beautifully appointed 3 bedroom, 2 bath beachfront villa with attached beach-side private pool. The attention to detail and open design provides guests the 'vacation' ambiance you need to fully relax and enjoy the nature and reefs at your door steps. A perfect vacation setting, backing a nature preserve with a panoramic ocean view. The best part of this private gated community is that there are no vendors or cruiseship guests encroaching on your vacation relaxation.
The private pool is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the Caribbean sunshine, while the oversized deck offers shade and cool breeze without compromising your view.
Ideally located beside the main activity building which houses the bar, restaurant, dive shop and tour desk. Kids are free to run the beach and have fun and still be in eye's shot from this villa. Foodies will enjoy the large kitchen, with every appliance you use home, making cooking for your family a breeze! On those casual nights you don't feel like cooking, the beach side restaurant and bar is only steps away.
The kitchen, dinning, and family room are an open layout that give plenty of room for your family and friends to gather. All of the bedrooms have air conditioning, the living room has a large flat screen TV. The master bedroom has a private ensuite bathroom, with a walk in shower, the second bath is shared by second and third bedrooms. All linens and bath towels are included, along with drinking water, all soaps, and paper products. The property managers can be located at the main activity building, and just a call away after business hours.
The house is in a great location, but could use a little upkeep. We still really enjoyed our time though. The area is very relaxing and the diving is wonderful.
Amazing house on a beautiful stretch of beach. Well maintained and stocked. Comfortable beds and nice places to relax inside and out. The scuba shop is top notch, we went out with Carlos snorkeling every day. Beautiful reef and amazing service. Having AC in the rooms was nice, if even just for the white noise when the wind was up. There are screens on everything but bugs get jn.
Coco, is an amazing house. The pool right on the beach is picturesque. We had pro's and con's to our stay.
Pro's: Dive shop, restaurant and amenities are great.
Con's: It's hot in Roatan, the A/C deal was a real struggle for us. I'm sure for most it's not a big deal. The sand flea's were crazy at dawn and dusk. It's like everyday you need to have some form of off or simply soft or you'll be eaten up. In late May, make sure your aware of the smoke. Oddly, I researched all over and never saw a thing about the smoke. It's a real deal. When the wind pics up be prepared that the beach will fly into the living space. The last thing to prep for at this location is that once it hits dark it is not suggested to be out and about. I heard that from a number of folks. That being said, if you are not eating at the restaurant your stuck.
I know I had a few negatives, but it's a once in a life time location and house. If your prepped for the other stuff you'll have a fantastic time.
We picked this location in order to stay away from the large crowds of the other locations, and it delivered. There was enough of a social element with the community pool/restaurant/bar, but also felt like we had our own private beach.
The house was beautiful! We went in August and was pretty hot, so we were thankful to have the sea air blowing into the house during the day. The AC in the bedrooms at night was a life saver. The kitchen was well appointed and we made a couple meals there.
The property is well maintained. They comb the beach every morning as well as a mosquito treatment to help combat them. As others had said, there is sea grass upon entering the water, so it swayed people from heading into the water from the beach. But you can swim off the dock which was really enjoyable.
The restaurant/bar staff are lovely. We had great conversations about life on the island, and was sad to say goodbye to the when we left. Note: when we were there (the slow season), they did not serve breakfast and were closed on Tuesday.
The management team is very helpful. We set up a mangrove tour through them, and it was fantastic. We did have a car to get around the island. If you are to stay here, I would recommend it.
Our family had a wonderful stay and are already talking about when we can go back. Highly Recommend!
Although this place is a bit out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the city, it takes about 20 min to get to West End. It was the perfect escape. The staff is amiable, especially at the bar. There is an excellent brewery within walking distance with good food and beer. We were a short drive from the attractions. The best part was a great snorkel spot right nearby that is exceptionally shallow. Also, having the dive site exactly there was great! I went diving three times (my first time after certification, so they were accommodating and patient), and my friend went twice, plus snorkeling. All the guides were excellent. The one day we went fishing, it was great to have a grill to cook on, and the kitchen staff even cooked our fish the next night. Being in the middle of the island allowed us to explore both sides, like the nightlife and this fantastic restaurant Bellas on the other end. I highly recommend this place and would come back in a heartbeat. There were remarks about bugs, but we honestly never had a problem. We just sprayed up when we would go out, but got a bite here or there, but nothing to complain about. Also, the addition of having our pool was great for relaxing after a day of diving before dinner and unwinding.
Roatan is a beautiful island filled with beautiful people. Coconut Grove is lovely home located on a private beach. Richard and Lisa at the bar/restaurant are amazing, as was our driver Marcial. They were so very accommodating and helpful. We shared many smiles, stories and laughs. Stephanie arranged our excursions and transportation, which made it easy for us. There was a lot of smoke (because of sugar cane burning on the mainland) which denied us the sunrises and sunsets. The private pool was a disappointment because the pump and filter werenât working properly and the water became very murky. We reported it, but they were unable to get it fixed and cleaned while we were there. Despite the smoke and not being able to use the pool, we had a great vacation! Thanks again Richard, Lisa, Marcial and Steph!
House is super comfy. On a very quiet resort. Nice beach and nice to have the pool. Sea as 4-5 feet of weed at the entrance.
2 cons: far from everything so you need a car because taxi could add up.
Sand fly are the worse. But they are everywhere on the island.
