Bright and immaculate cottage centrally located in Rockport village. Steps to the harbor, beaches, and some of Midcoast Maine's most acclaimed restaurants, yet privately situated atop a hill among centuries-old estates and homes. Enjoy a lobster bake on your expansive deck overlooking the Camden Hills and Rockport village. Take your coffee on the charming front porch after a morning stroll to the village to pick up fresh pastries. A rare combination of central location and privacy!
The cottage has been recently redecorated with new furnishings, bed linens, artwork, and housewares. The kitchen is fully equipped to accommodate any chef who wishes to take advantage of the bounty of local, delicious ingredients (many of which can be procured from the various specialty shops within walking distance of the house). The bedrooms are furnished with crisp high-end linens, and a sofa bed can be made up for extra guests. Dine indoors or out - there is seating for 6 people both in the dining room and on the deck. There is a new internet TV in the living room with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu etc. (use your own login credentials), but there is so much to do, you might never turn it on! If necessary, there is a 2-car attached garage available for indoor parking. Two full bathrooms and a laundry are available for guest use. Although the lot is wooded, in the summer there is a sunny lawn with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for lounging in the sun or s'mores in the evening. It's a magical spot!
The location truly can't be beat. This home is steps from the Rockport harbor park, which is a magical spot for a swim, a glass of wine at sunset, or for watching the impressive yachts come and go over a lunchtime picnic. There is a small beach that is perfect for littles, and at high tide the big kids (and adults) can jump off of the 20 foot stone wall into the crystal clear water below. You can launch your kayaks, canoes (or yachts) for a cruise around one of Maine's most beautiful harbors. The village is home to some of the area's best restaurants, cafes, and galleries - all a stone's throw from the house. The house is located on historic Amsbury Hill, home to stately old Maine sea captains' houses. Your neighbors' homes are pristinely maintained with gorgeous summer gardens. You can walk, ride your bike or - if you must - drive to bustling downtown Camden a few miles away while glimpsing grand old waterfront estates along the way.
