Keep the kids entertained on those rare rainy days with a large recreation room featuring a full-size billiard table.

Or perhaps drive south to Hatteras Village & take a short ferry ride to historic Ocracoke Island. Enjoy fishing in the Ocean Surf, the Pamlico Sound, or the Rodanthe fishing pier which is just 2 miles away. Drive either North or South and enjoy some of the best charter fishing on the east coast!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house had everything you could possibly need, and was just perfect for our 5 person group plus my dog. Pool was great, hot tub was great, and it was so nice to have that many bedrooms and bathrooms. Short walk to the beach or the sound, just as described. We would 100% stay here again!

The home was very nice and big enough for all of us. My family enjoyed the pool everyday . Loved how quiet the street was and being on a dead end was a plus for my 1.5 year old grandson to ride his bike. Morning sunrise on the balcony was so enjoyable.

The house was perfect for 6 adults and 3 kiddo’s. Full kitchen was a must. The proximity to the ocean and sound were great. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub! Yes we would rent it again.

Perfect location and a great time!

This is your typical ideal beach house with everything you need. The caretaker, Misty, lives next door and is wonderful! Plenty of outside deck space to relax. The pool and hot tub were great!

Great family get away

We took our family, 13 in all, and we all had a great time. With 7 grandchildren, 15-2yrs of age, the room set up was easy to sleep all. Had easy access to beach, great decks to relax, quite neighborhood. Would go back again.

Life IS GOLDEN!

Our family had an amazing stay at this property! Cleanliness, location, pool, hot tub, pool table, all the amenities, close to beach access and pier. Walking distance from DQ, Mirros cafe, and paddle-boarding. Pet friendly! Our Golden fur-nephew and our two chihuahuas also had the BEST time! Thank you for your hospitality!

Another great stay at Life is Golden. Although the weather didn’t cooperate we still enjoyed our vacation in the OBX . The house was just as shown in the listing , Grill and deck furniture have been upgraded since our last stay. No complaints and would definitely recommend.

Waves Family Vacation

The house had plenty of space for our party of 7 adults, a teen and two infants. The pool, hot tub and billiard room were great for when we were not out and about. Kitchen and grill were great for meal prep. The central location of Waves makes it more convenient to visit north and south OBX attractions. Sunday check-in/out avoids the Saturday rush. Had a great week.

Very nice home. The online photos sell it a little short. Nice and clean.

Comfortable. Clean. Well appointed kitchen (suggestion, crab cracker). Pool and Hot Tub were perfect. Other suggestion is that the pressure treated deck and railings need a little TLC. Would stay there again. Very satisfied with this rental.

The house was very clean when we arrived. Plenty of space for all 10 adults and 1 dog. We enjoyed our stay very much and had a long overdue family beach trip. The pool was nice to cool off in after a long beach day, two outdoor showers to rinse the sand off. Neighborhood was nice and quiet with that small town feeling. Beach was not overcrowded like some of the commercialized beachs. It was so peaceful. Would recommend and stay again.

Great family vacation

The area was perfect for our beach trip with extended family. There were plenty of beach fun accessories available to use which we also left a few additional things behind for the next guests since they will not be used. I really loved the pool area very relaxing. I had no issues at all and it was a nice stress free time with my family. Alex shrimp shack was phenomenal yum. Great house

We had a blast. My parents drove from Florida. It was so nice to have everyone together. Plenty of space. Kids loved DQ being right across the street. We rented bikes the area was perfect for the little one to ride on. I would absolutely rent this house again. Thanks Steve!!

Home has lots to offer

Home was nice and large enough with plenty of room for our party of 12. Kids loved the pool while others enjoyed the hot tub. Views were great from the top deck and beach was only a 5 minute walk. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances. Overall everyone enjoyed and had a great time. I would rent Life Is Golden again on any future trips we may take.

Even better than expected

We were more than happy with our stay here and would be so happy to book it again. The pictures do not do the house justice, and it was so well stocked with everything we needed from the kitchen to the linen to the pool and beach supplies. The proximity to the beach was great, and of course Waves Market—a must for us multiple times each visit. The hot tub and pool were perfect and very well kept. Steve was very responsive to all of our questions almost immediately. All in all a wonderful vacation.
