It was OK. Nothing special, just a place to sleep. I was not happy to be charged a $100 deposit, in case I stole the sheets or something. As if! Nothing much within walking distance, so bring your own snacks.

Toilet was clogged. Front desk made me go to the front desk to get the plunger and did not bring it to my room. Once i arrived at the front desk the attendant informed me he did not have a plunger. Offered to change room but it was already late. Nobody ever at front desk, hard to get ahold of. Not very clean hotel, a lot of homeless in the area. Walked into the elevator to find an “attendant” standing there smoking a cigarette inside and asking me “what floor number”, not clear how to check out and drop off keys. Very bad stay, wont return.

Room itself was ok, beds were fine, however, the room was not cleaned well, it was disgusting. Our room wasn’t stocked of towels and when we called to get bath towels they didn’t have enough clean towels for our room. Property was trashed. We would not stay here again.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson in Hotel Circle and were very satisfied with our stay. It’s a good choice if you’re visiting Seaworld, Sesame Place, the San Diego Zoo, USS Midway, the Maritime Museum, malls, or seeing family. Most places are 1–4 miles away, which made the trip easy. We set realistic expectations, and everything met what we needed. Parking was plenty with CCTV. It’s an older building like most in Hotel Circle, but our second-floor room was very clean. No insects, no odd smells, no issues. The sink, bathroom, and floors were spotless, even in corners. The room had a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, clean towels, bright lighting, and a strong AC. The fridge freezer section needed defrosting, but it was clean. The floors had normal wear from luggage. The bed was firm, pillows were basic, and bedding was clean. There’s no closed closet, only an open hanging area. Outlets worked, though a couple were loose. We felt safe, and you can see your car from the room areas. Staff was kind and helpful. Check-in requires signing a few papers and a $100 deposit hold, which is standard and released after checkout if the room is left in good condition. Housekeeping refreshed the room on the second day with no problems. You will hear freeway noise, but that’s true for all Hotel Circle properties. It didn’t bother our sleep. Overall, clean room, safe area, good parking, and a great price for a holiday weekend. We would stay here again. It’s not fancy but it works.

Nonsmokers room smelled like smoke, couldnt check in for 10+ minutes because no one was there and there were no be back signs, looked a bit musty, freeway nearby is awesome but walking is terrible, and how can you advertise free internet when the speed is 5 mbps?

Lots of homeless walking around property. Needles and razor blades in the parking lot. Opened the room to check-in and several roaches were running around the floor so I immediately checked out and left

Stayed one night before flying out early morning. So, tried to go to bed early. Tons of road noise. Noisy guests next door that kept slamming their door. Someone from the hotel knocked on my door at 9:30 pm. Didn't get a good explanation as to why. Just didn't feel safe here. So put chairs and my bag in front of the door. Guy at reception was terse. Just put a hold on my card for damages and told me there was no breakfast. Which was fine because I checked out at 5am. But, might want to take the breskfast timing signs in the elevator fown. Garbage in the parking area. Elevator wasn't operating in the morning, guessing for security reasons.
