Ini my eyes they have an overly complex check-in process, telling customers to load an app for locks, then connect to wifi. Which didnât work, so had to be let in via phone calls to very helpful Stayz staff.
Short story: beware. Would not recommend for most people. My wife and I ended up vacating the property early and booking a last-minute hotel across town.
Photos of the property are accurate (except that the television is installed very crooked on the wall - not a big deal for us), but underneath the âperfect refugeâ description is the reality that itâs virtually impossible to get sleep in the place, unless you plan to be out very late (~4am). The unit does not have air conditioning, but you also canât open the windows and air the place out (or cool it down during the summer months) because the noise is too much. We brought a loud white noise machine with us on the trip and it wasnât enough. Between the stuffy apartment and the noise (think drunk yelling until 5am), we werenât able to sleep and ended up double-paying to move to a more comfortable location. (As a show of their concern, the owners offered us a âcommercial gestureâ if we ever decide to return to San SebastiĂĄn and re-book with them ⊠something they know is never going to happen.)
Check-in was difficult as well. The company uses an app thatâs supposed to remotely unlock the door for you. Only it didnât work. We were left standing in the stairwell of the unit for ~25 mins after a very long travel day. Eventually the company was able to remotely unlock the door themselves, which was nice and a bit creepy.
Looks nice, but not a refuge in any sense.
