This is a very old hotel.

Pros: The place was quiet, and the showerhead had a lot of force to it. The woman at the counter was polite and efficient.
Cons: Replace the mattress, light bulbs, fridge and slipcover. Add shampoo and conditioner. Clean the fish pond!
Location: I stayed there because I went to a class reunion. Cut Bank is fairly close to the east side of Glacier National Park.
I booked a room with a king bed, and did not know it was the "honeymoon suite". The room appeared to be clean, and the hot tub was an interesting addition, although I did not try it out. It consisted of a hose to fill it, and some kind of machine to hook up to stir the water around. The hanging light only had one bulb working, with three or four burned out. The chair had a slip cover on it with several holes in it. The mattress on the bed clearly was fairly old, and sagged somewhat in the middle. The fridge tried valiantly to keep things cool, but failed. There were fish in a decorative area in the lobby, but the water looked dirty and murky. There is very limited parking.

Glacier Gateway Inn -- Sad News

We didn't expect a lot as the Glacier Gateway Inn was fairly cheap, but here's what we found: the rooms were fairly comfortable, the beds firm, the pillows were very uncomfortable, so bring your own (we always do anyway). The maids came in and made the beds daily, but vacuumed only once during our four night stay. There is no ice machine, but the manager will go into a back room to get you ice if you need it---however, the one time we did this, it took ten minutes as the manager was helping another customer. In the drawers, we found items left by the previous tenants, so obviously, a thorough cleaning hadn't happened. A "continental breakfast" was advertised and consisted of these items: cold or hot cereal, plain bagels, blueberry or bran muffins, donettes, bread for toast, milk, Sunny-Delight, orange juice, or coffee. It wasn't very appetizing. There apparently had been a waffle maker, as the sign for its use was on the wall, but when we asked about it, they said it had broken and they were waiting for another one. The door to the room was so loose-fitting and thin that it allowed us to hear people talking plainly outside our door, which entered into the lobby---so who knows what the people outside heard coming from our room---I hope they got a thrill anyway. We stayed there for access to Glacier National Park, but it was too far away--around 50 miles (though that is no fault of theirs). All in all, it could've been much better than it was and we will probably never stay there again.
