Excellent apartment Coral Sands
Stayed for 10 nights. A perfect location, everything as it says in the write up, spacious and nice. There is a bit of noise and traffic (but not to much of a problem)as it’s on a one way street and there is Baia restaurant, Sand Street Bristo and Canoose fish boat which sells fish cutters/drinks and has a lovely atmosphere, there are all on the same street. I miss the parking garage because it’s off the main street and down a side road in front of Baia restaurant,so be careful with that. I enjoy my stay and Sonjia was a perfect housekeeper. I would highly recommend it and stay there again.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Not as hoped
Being opposite the Baia restaurant (which we knew beforehand) made the property noisier than expected due to traffic on the road below and reflected heat in the morning was an issue. I do acknowledge that the weather was extremely hot during our visit even by local standards.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The bathroom was deplorable with moss in corners. The shower head was leaking and needs changing. The room smelt of sewerage and the water heater did not work.

Great accommodation
This is a great place to stay. Secure parking, close to restaurants, grocery, bars. Had the beach all to ourselves. A problem with kitchen lights was fixed within 1 hour of reporting it to manager. Would stay here again.

Well equipped and a great base to explore Barbados
10 metres from the beach and you’ll have it pretty much to yourself. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. Dealing with Thilo was a pleasure and there were no complaints at all. I would return in a heartbeat and am missing it already.

The property was ok but the noise (and fumes) sometimes from the deliveries to the restaurant opposite and the passing traffic made it uncomfortable. Also the bed was very hard. We like firm beds but this was a little uncomfortable.

Really cute beachfront condo.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this cute 2 bedroom condo. It was efficiently equiped in the kitchen, and the service was excellent. Their references for taxi drivers and activities were very helpful. We had a wonderful time. The Cool Runnings catamaran excursion was outstanding. Brace yourself for the food prices, VERY EXPENSIVE, but they have pretty much everything you'll need, at the local grocery store. 2L of ice cream was $25 US or $50 Barbados. Oh well, it was all worth it. We're planning to return every year. We recommend with a 5-Star rating.

Well kept apartment in excellent position
We have just returned from a stay of nearly 5 weeks at Coral Sands and we have already booked again for next year! It is an excellent apartment, with an extremely well equipped kitchen, spacious, clean, comfortable beds and within a 5 minute walking distance to the fish market, bakery, supermarkets, bank, post office and bus station in Speightstown. The location is fantastic – literally across the road from a very quiet sandy beach. There are several beach chairs and beds to use on the beach and plenty of towels. Whilst there is some noise from the restaurant opposite, it was not excessive and we witnessed several improvements whilst we were there, including sound mufflers for the air conditioning units, valet parking and signage to take cars away from the front of the building. Overall it seems they are trying to be good neighbours. The restaurant door staff were very friendly and in many ways their presence in the dark evenings adds a positive security angle. They close at 10pm and generally everyone has left by 10.30pm. We have stayed in other accommodation in Barbados where the tree frogs, dogs and cockerels have kept us awake all night, but we enjoyed a good night’s sleep every night in Coral Sands. Overall we felt that the location of this apartment so close to facilities, access to the beach, spacious accommodation and value for money far outweighed any minor inconvenience from noise issues. We are very much looking forward to our stay again next year.

Superb apartment
Coral Sands apartment is excellent. It is well-equipped, well laid out, very comfortable and very well furnished, with lots of 'extras' provided such as beach towels, beach longer and chairs etc. There is even an ice-maker as part of the fridge/freezer. In fact, everything you think you may need whist staying there is provided. Sonja, the housekeeper/caretaker for the building, is on hand 5 days a week if you have any queries and she cleaned the apartment (mopped floors, cleaned bathroom etc.) 4 times during our two week stay. The owner, Thilo, is easy to contact too and always helpfully and promptly responds by email. There is a lovely quiet beach opposite, and charming Speightstown is a few minutes walk away where you can find lots of decent bars and restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. However, just opposite the apartment where once stood a characteristic, charming old Bajan house now stands a thriving up-market restaurant. This does mean that there are lots of comings and goings during the daytime (deliveries etc.), which of course is of no consequence if you are out all day but does tend to disturb the peace and quite of the lapping sea if you are sitting on the balcony. At the moment, the restaurant is only open in the evenings but apparently there are plans to open at lunchtime as well in the future. During opening hours, the noise from arriving and departing customers and meet-and-greet staff can be annoying, and the restaurant's proximity means privacy can sometimes be limited. I guess these are initial teething problems which, over time, might be resolved but they certainly did impact on our time in the apartment. In summary, a great apartment in a beautiful spot in what we consider is the best part of Barbados but with some disruption from the restaurant.
