Annie Laurie Cottage! w/ Elevator and heated pool
St Simons Rentals is proud to present Annie Laurie Cottage! The Annie Laurie Cottage is uniquely custom built 5 bedroom / 4.5 bathroom cottage located in the oceanfront community of Coast Cottages on St. Simons Island. The Annie Laurie Cottage is full of nostalgia, ready for you to make beach memories to last a lifetime! The interior walls are completely covered with ship-lap wood paneling, and the trim and moldings are a work of art. It was a year-long labor of love by a very talented couple who built and furnished every corner with whimsy and practicality. The color scheme of aqua with pops of red catches everyone's eye and makes them long for those childhood days--a real retro-inspired gem! Located just 100 yards from Coast Cottages' fabulous 2 ocean side pools, pavilion and beach boardwalk, this home is destined to be a St. Simons' superstar for years to come. You'll love the ocean views from the balconies, cleverly placed windows, and especially the rooftop deck with its built-in gallery seating. And once inside, you'll be amazed at Annie Laurie's creativity, craftsmanship, and splendor.
FIRST FLOOR: Guest Bedroom 1 is like a second master with a hand-made king bed and en suite bath. Guest Bedroom 2 has a hand-made queen bed with en suite bath. The kids will love Guest Bedroom 3 with its rope-style bunk bed, built-in video screens and convenient en suite 1/2 bath.
SECOND FLOOR: You'll love the open living, dining and kitchen arrangement where everyone can be together for family get-togethers. Enjoy a sing-along around the antique upright piano (did you know that "Annie Laurie" is a real Irish song?). There's plenty of comfortable seating on the wrap-around sectional with glimpses of the ocean through several windows. Check out our old-style wooden cafeteria table which seats 10 for meals. The seats tuck underneath and out of the way when not in use. And the kitchen is nothing short of amazing with its granite counters and flourishes of vintage (yet modern) appliances. The breakfast bar even has built-in soda shop stools. After breakfast, step out on the breezy, furnished balcony for a some sweet salt air and relaxing conversation among the swaying palms. You can watch the 62' flat screen TV from almost anywhere on the second floor, and there is a convenient full bath just off of the kitchen. You'll also find a secluded bedroom equipped with a handmade set of bunks, each with its own porthole window (one with an ocean view)! Bring your x-box too, because every bunk bed in Annie Laurie has a wall-mounted video screen ready for your favorite device.
THIRD FLOOR: On your way up the stairs, take a peek out the left window at the 1936 Historic Coast Guard Station about 100 yards away ... it was the architectural inspiration for Annie Laurie Cottage. Your jaw will drop as you enter a spacious master suite which occupies the entire third floor. The king headboard rises almost to the ceiling where three luxurious paddle fans slowly move the air in grand style. Fall asleep to the 62' flat screen TV, and wake up to an ocean sunrise without ever leaving the bed. There are two sitting areas, one nestled in a gorgeous bay window with built-in seating and a fabulous ocean view. Enter the master bath through frosted glass doors and marvel at the unbelievable tile work
You and your guests will have access to the 2 neighborhood pools. Details of the Heated Community Pool: The Coast Cottages heats one of the pools on weekends (Friday- Sunday) during cooler months and certain holidays (at no charge to guests) Thanksgiving, week of Christmas through New Years Day, the last week of March and first week of April (Spring Break). Any other days may be heated upon request for $50 per day.
Amazing stay good for large families. Absolutely shocking once she walked in and you donât expect it to be as nice as it is but then itâs a lot more spacious. Thereâs not as many pictures as there should be but itâs still an amazing place and itâs a good surprise.
We love the area! Weâve stayed in 4 different Coast Cottages a total of 6 times over the past 10 years. This house was comfortable, clean and spacious enough for 10 people. Our only complaints would be the WIFI was inadequate and the cable options were lacking . We couldnât get the Braves game . Many remotes for the main tv but no directory to get to cable tv or network tv. There isnât enough cabinet space to put food so maybe add a hutch instead of the piano. There were a lot of tiny gnats , like maybe fruit flies .
So when I booked I thought the house was ocean front from the pictures. But itâs not. 5 houses off but still nice quite safe street . Pretty good walk to beach when lugging chairs umbrellas etc. pool area large and nice. 2 diff pools. Bennieâs Red Barn was a great restaurant.
After more than 30 years we returned to St Simons for a family vacation. It didnât disappoint. The neighborhood and beach access are fantastic. While the location was great, the house could use some attention for renters. The small common space furniture and bed linens are worn. With just a little sprucing up, I would have ranked 5 stars.
We had a great time and plan to return to the neighborhood.
