Amazing place to stay in the heart of the rocks
Our property is right in the heart of The Rocks, which is the best place to stay when exploring Sydney. The Opera house and the Harbour Bridge is only a moments walk away. You are located a short walk away from restaurants, bars and cafes. Staying in the heart of the historical Rocks is not to be missed.
Our property has 3 individual bedrooms within the heritage townhouse (one upstairs and 2 on ground floor). We have one bathroom and the lounge on the ground floor and the kitchen and laundry room on the first floor. You have the entire house to enjoy.
Guest have access to the whole place to themselves given them a home away from home experiences.
I am not onsite but will be available through messaging or phone call. If you need any help or advise on Sydney or Australia i`m always happy to help.
The Rocks is famous for the history and key landmarks, such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) is only a few minutes walk from the property.
You can get to most places in Sydney from Circular Quay station and this is only a short walk away as well. Please leave the house tidy and as you found it.
No parties No smoking or vaping No pets
Please respect our neighbours and keep quiet between 10pm and 8am. Please be aware and adhere to the NSW Code of Conduct
The location is wonderful and the manager helpful but the place is run down. Peeling plaster, toilet seat fell off, one roll toilet paper, dirty silverware in drawer, oven smoked profusely when trying to reheat a pizza, no suitcase stands, and daughter got bug bites when in bed. Not recommended
Location was perfect. We absolutly loved being in such a historic area. Amazing stores/shops/food all over the place. We were not prepared for the hills and steps but had a great time.
Great communication with the owner. We were able to check in a little early after an early morning flight.
House layout is a little odd (but expected for an older place like this). Main floor has 2 bedrooms, living room and the only (very small) bathroom while kitchen and master bed are upstairs. We had 5 adults so the bathroom downstairs was a minor annoyance.
Overall, this was a wonder house for our stay in Sydney. 8 minute walk to Circular Quay for bus/rail/ferry!
Pictures were misleading. It took me back to my student days with furniture sourced from 2nd hand shops - the wardrobes were ancient and the inside smelt of mold - we could not use them, as clothes would have smelt.Overall the house was grubby, the carpets should have been removed years ago as they were marked and threadbare. For a 3 bedroom house, the bathroom was tiny with a sink, toilet and shower squeezed into a tiny space - no bigger than an old telephone box.We were woken each day by builders at 6.45am - drilling and making a terrible racket. There were 3 properties being renovated in a 20 metre radius. The owners can't be blamed for that but if they were taking care of the property they should advise that building work is ongoing downstairs and next door. The one positive was the location in the Rocks which was great. If I was a student renting the property, fair enough, However, the impression from the marketing blurb was this was thigh end, it wasn't.There was also a drama collecting the keys & customer service was non existent. We were given incorrect details on 3 occasions - the check in/check out dates and the address - they even got that wrong. Overall experience was really poor.If you want my advice - get an apartment close by - I am sorry we didn't.It did spoil our stay in beautiful Sydney, which is a shame as we don't complain normally and we are experienced travellers who normally go with the flow.
Absolutely brilliant location, and a wonderful property!
This property was incredible for location and cleanliness. We found the location to be so central and the communication with Stephanie to be brilliant. The accomodation does have a number of stairs to access it (itâs on the second floor) and a decent flight within it too, with the handrail being slightly shorter than average. Itâs probably not a good place for those who arenât fairly nimble on stairs. The property is beautifully presented and we found the layout perfect for our needs. The bathroom is small and contains the toilet, however, it is clean, tidy and very functional. We found the small shampoo bottles and spare roll of toilet paper to be very helpful in getting us though until our grocery order arrived. The facilities within the apartment give it a great ability to eat at âhomeâ but there is also a pub across the road too. We stayed weekdays so it wasnât too loud (the pub) however I am not sure if it would be a bit noisier on the weekends, especially in the early arvo and evenings. The property had pedestal fans (one didnât work) and fin heaters in the bedrooms, with the lounge area having an electric heater (turns on but doesnât work/heat) too however there is no other heating or cooling for the property, and no screens on the windows. We stayed when the weather was really lovely but it did get a little cool at night so the fin heaters were very appreciated. Our biggest tip for those who are getting out and about is to use the LIFT that is located down the road if you are worn out from walking and donât feel up for using the stairs to get back to the property. We found out about it on the last day of our stay and weâre very appreciative of it. The lift is located past the second (new, more even and safer spaced, with treads) stairs that can be found along Gloucester Street, if you head toward Cumberland Street, and is just down a little ramp area on the side of a building. The lift takes you down to Harrington Street and is then an easier stroll to Circular Quay. You honestly cannot beat this accomodation for its incredible location to so many beautiful sights of Sydney and we found it to be completely fantastic! Thanks so much Stephanie!
