The Space:

Palo Santo (Sacred Wood) is the highest elevation home in Lajitas. The hilltop location offers unobstructed views of Lajitas Mesa, the Rio Grande, and the Bofecillos Mountains in Mexico and the Big Bend Ranch State Park. Located at the entrance to Big Bend Ranch State Park and at the start of most scenic drive in Texas, along FM 170 (“the River Road”) as it follows the Rio Grande through BBRSP.



Custom-built and newly renovated for the enjoyment of discerning travelers. Ideally suited for small groups or a family of up to six guests. High speed Wi-Fi throughout.



With 2450 square feet of interior space, wrap around deck and spacious patio, you and your group will have ample space to relax and hang out.



Living Room: The large living room is open to the dining room and kitchen, with leather furniture, vaulted ceiling with roughhewn rafters and beams, real wood floors, piano, big screen Smart TV, and wood burning stove.



Full Kitchen: The spacious kitchen is fully stocked with modern electric appliances and kitchenwares. Large fridge and freezer, glass top stove, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, slow cooker, kettle, blender, pots and pans, bakeware, and much more. Coffee and filters are provided.



Dining Room: The dining room is open to the living room and kitchen for easy socialization. Seating for six at the table.



Game Room: The game room features a wet bar, card table, cards, poker chips, games, and puzzles. It opens to the living room for easy social interaction with your family or friends.



Bedrooms: The master suite features a king bed, mountain views, a private bathroom with a large shower, and a closet. The second bedroom features a king bed, twin daybed, and a convenient rollaway twin bed. Both rooms have room darkening shades and are nicely decorated and furnished with dressers, chairs, nightstands, ceiling fans, and table lamps. All bed linens are provided.



Bathrooms: Both bathrooms have large showers, vanities, mirrors, flushing toilets, hot and cold water, ample bath linens, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The guest bathroom has a jacuzzi tub.



Laundry Room: The laundry room has a full-size washer and dryer.



Wrap Around Deck upstairs: The wrap around deck is shaded with a propane grill and furnished with chairs for enjoying the mountain views.



Patio Space downstairs: The patio space has outdoor seating, fire pit, and a two person hot tub.



Covered Parking: The carport offers covered parking to keep you vehicle out of the weather.



Dark Sky Friendly: The deck and patio have dark sky friendly lighting to maximize your star gazing.



Central AC and Heat: The home has central AC, heat, and ceiling fans.



SPECIAL NOTE:

While Palo Santo is in Lajitas, it is not part of the resort. There is no access to the resort pool. Other resort amenities, including Black Jack’s Crossing golf course, restaurant, bar, and spa are typically open to the public. HOWEVER, the resort does exercise their right to restrict access as they see fit during certain hours, busy times, or during private events. Please contact the resort directly regarding access to any of their amenities.



Guest Access:

Private and secure access is provided with a key code that opens the entry door and patio door. No need to schedule your arrival time or meet with the hosts to obtain a key.



The Neighborhood:

Located on top of the hill on the west side of Lajitas, overlooking Lajitas, the Rio Grande, and mountain vistas of Texas and Mexico. Quick and easy access to Lajitas, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and the Rio Grande. Just a 15 minute drive to the historic Terlingua Ghost Town, or 25 minutes to the entrance to Big Bend National Park.

Check with the Lajitas Resort regarding access to Black Jack's Crossing golf course and other resort amenities. Access is sometimes limited to resort guests (we are not part of the resort), especially at busy times or during private events. We do not have any control over any restrictions they might impose.



Other Things to Note:

Please respect our local "dark sky" initiatives to reduce light pollution and preserve our world class star gazing. Please conserve water, but not to the point of inconvenience or discomfort. Interaction with Guests:

The hosts, Daryl & Janet Eby of Big Bend Vacation Rentals, and their staff, all live in the area. We manage dozens of private vacation homes. We usually do not meet our guests in person.
