If there were an Olympic event for host communication, Maki would have taken home gold! From the moment we booked, the detailed instructions guided us seamlessly from Narita to the front door, and the additional information on local places of interest were terrific! The directions for the washing machine alone deserve a standing ovation! The apartment was super clean and the balcony was a welcome retreat for some solitude after being amongst the millions of locals and billions of tourists.The location? Perfection! We haven’t stayed anywhere else in Tokyo, but being right on the Yamanote Line made us feel like we had front-row seats to the entire city. The short stroll to and from the station meant we could explore in the morning, pop “home” for a rest, then head out again for a night of ramen and neon lights.The bathroom was incredible; nothing beats a cool rinse after clocking up 20,000 steps sightseeing. And the washing facilities? A total game changer. We packed light and shopped heavy.Now for the one tiny “ouch” — the bedding. Let’s just say it’s seen more Tokyo adventures than we have, and my back was not a fan. With a mattress refresh, this place would be a straight-up 5/5.All in all, Maki’s apartment is a brilliant home base for exploring Tokyo.

The location for me was excellent. It’s not an overly tourist area, which I enjoyed. The apartment is absolutely perfect for the Yamanote Line, just a 5 minute walk. Plus a metro line, which offers further options. The grocery stores are good nearby. The apartment could benefit from some extra space for storing clothes and suitcases etc. The shower is good and kitchen equipment more than adequate for any cooking needs. The washing machine is good and there’s a balcony to hang clothes. The air conditioning was a must for us. Especially during the extremely hot weather. Maki was a great host and communication was excellent. I’d stay here again on future trips.

Amazing location! Easy access to train station, small shops and convenience store 1 minute away. The accommodations were quiet, clean and cozy. Shower was awesome, air conditioned and our host was soooo accommodating and extra helpful.

Lovely stay

Maki was an excellent host, very available to answer questions and helpful. His apartment is simple and small, but had everything we needed for our one week stay in Tokyo. The apartment is a 3 min walk from the grocery store and about a 5 min walk from the train station, making access to all of Tokyo very easy. The japanese gardens nearby were also a lovely stroll, with a tea house to enjoy some matcha and sweets! We would definitely stay here again.

Great accommodation

Wonderful communications with Maki. This was a great base for us during our 6 days in Tokyo. Really close to a station, all amenities close by, and nice and quiet in the evening. We would definitely stay again.

Tantanmen Hosizora is my favorite noodle restaurant.The room is clean and provided everything we need.Kana-san is very responsible, we asked some extra supplies, then she delivered them next day.We really recommend this place.

Very handy flat

We had a great time based in this apartment. The location is easily accessible from and too all of tokyo via the circle yamamoto line. Yet we felt we were living in an ordinary suburb and had some insight into what this might be like. The local people are very friendly.The flat is small but has everything needed. Beds very comfy and shower works well. We were very happy here!

Wonderful Stay!

Maki is an outstanding host- very communicative and replied to my questions within minutes. The apartment was just as described- perfect for our small group. We loved that there was a washer and balcony with a line to dry our clothes. We really enjoyed the neighborhood! Lots of restaurants and a grocery store around the corner. Highly recommend!

Very convenient and comfortable stay

The apartment is straightforward and comfortable. We really appreciated how close it was to the train station and that there were places to eat very close to the apartment. We were able to walk to a Japanese garden and enjoyed that as well. The communication with the owner was Great and the instructions were also thorough and clear. She also provided photos to make sure that we found the apartment easily.

Great Authentic Tokyo Stay

We stayed at this place at the beginning of our Japan trip for four nights. Given how close Komegome station is, the place is very easy to get to. Also, Maki provided excellent instructions on how to get to the place so we could easily find it and not be overwhelmed upon arriving in Tokyo. The area has some great restaurants and good shopping. The accommodations were very comfortable for the three of us with everything in the place that we needed. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Authentic Tokyo experience

Perfect location for exploring Tokyo with easy access to JR Yamanote line but in a quieter neighbourhood with lots of character and convenience. The apartment felt typical for Tokyo. I'd be happy to stay here again.

Beste Wahl, zum Wohlfühlen

In allen Punkten super, die Wohnung liegt sehr günstig, check in absolut einfach, Maki sandte uns im Vorfeld eine grandiose Wegbeschreibung und gab alle wichtigen Infos. Wir fühlten uns rundum sehr wohl. Absolut perfekt wäre eine neue Matratze auf dem Sofa und eine leisere Klimaanlage. Danke Maki!

場所が良かった。

駒込駅から近く、コンビニや商店街もあり、いろいろ美味しい食べ物屋さんがまわりにありました。特に生パスタのお店（こば屋）は良かったです。借りたお部屋に関しては、Wi-Fiが早くて助かりました。しかし今回大人四人だったので、ベッド４つ分あったのは良かったのですが、リビングにあるソファがベッドになるタイプのほうはマットレスがやわらかすぎて腰を悪くしました。。。あと洗濯機を使ったのですが、中のごみを取るフィルターがめちゃくちゃ汚くて匂いもあり、使いたくなくなるほどでしたが、自分でどうにかきれいにして使いました。あと棚にあったグラスにひびが入っているものもありました。お風呂はすごいきれいというかんじではなかったです。風呂の椅子があったらもっとよかったです。全体的にはエレベーターも使えて場所的にも便利でしたし良かったです。

Quiet and easy access

For a first time in Japan this location was great. With easy access to the JY line it helped us make the most of our few days in Tokyo. The neighbourhood is peaceful. The apartment was very clean and the host very helpful.

A great home base in a quiet neighborhood

We could not have been more happy with our stay here! Kamagome is a quiet, slow-paced neighborhood that was perfect to get away from the craziness of Tokyo (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, etc). It is a perfect stop on the Yamanote line and the shops in the neighborhood were perfect. Maki's communication was spectacular and we had zero problems. The apartment was perfect for my self, my sister, and my 2 adult children. The space was a little tight, but that's a city for you! I would stay here again and recommend without hesitation!
