Known throughout the world as the city built on water, given its construction on 100 islands in the lagoon, Venice is one of Italy's most popular locations worldwide.
It is a real open-air museum, thanks to its historical and artistic heritage made of churches, palaces, and museums.
Strolling through Venice is like diving in the past: the so-called calli (streets) are dotted and framed by aristocratic buildings such as the Doge's Palace, the historic home of the Doges, spectacular bridges including the famous Rio Alto Bridge, and canals navigable by gondolas, waterbuses, and boats of all kinds.
The heart of the city is the enchanting St. Mark's Square, which houses the Basilica of the same name and welcomes thousands of tourists from all over the world every day.
The most famous local event is definitely the Carnival, thanks to its centuries-old tradition of masks and costumes that enliven the streets every year.
Last but not least, the famous "BĂ caro Tour" is a must: a tour among taverns where to taste local wine along with cicheti, typical Venetian tasty bites.
The accommodation is approximately 1.4 m from the Venice Santa Lucia train station.
We were missing remote control for tv. I understood there would be a tv in both bedrooms. We did find it quite noisy. Remote for air conditioner was not operable. No hot water in one bathroom. Location was good however instructions on how to pick up keys and location of the property could have included more detailed instructions such as how to find the office from the train station and which waterbus to take and which stop to get off at. The inclusivity of a map would have been helpful. Think instructions for people being in Venice for the first time.
First and foremost you need to know that it is a 30 minute walk from the apartment to collect the key for check-in. I would have never booked if I had known that⊠and they didnât tell us until a couple hours prior to check in. Completely ruined our plans for Day 1. The apartment is fine, nothing special. Good location to easily get all over Venice since it it by the Rialto bridge (one of only places to cross the Grand Canal). I didnât find it loud at all. Even though it says itâs on the 1st floor, the amount of stairs are more like a 4th floor⊠youâll be looking at rooftops out the windows. The showers are finicky, both with function and temperature. Nice to have 2 bathrooms, but one shower had no lights and the other was so tiny you canât turn around. My friends reported the beds were very hard. I slept on the couch, which was fine (kind of stained, but I tried to ignore). Overall, itâs just ok if you need to stay here and can deal with the key situation.
Great location close to the Grand Canal and restaurants.Large flat with all amenities including air conditioning which is important we discovered.Only complaint was hot water in bathroom adjacent to kitchen did not function. Either no flow of water or cold in shower. Other shower was fine.
We loved the location a key lock at the property would be an asset as itâs a long way from the locker, the apartment is nice but feel it needs a update on several items, mugs should be replaced and if catering for 4 should have at least 4 mugs, the shower in by the living room was not working properly the button would not stay out and the water would come out the bath tap.We felt the apartment was very dusty in most areas apart from that had a lovely time.
We really liked the unit! The bedrooms and kitchen were spacious, which was great. The beds were much firmer than weâre used to, and having some softer pillow options would have been a nice addition. Some of the furniture was different from the photos, but the kitchen table and bedding were provided as expected. Since we mostly used the unit for sleeping and didnât cook or spend much time inside, it worked well for our needs. One thing to noteâthere are actually two sets of stairs to access the unit, whereas we thought there would be just one. Not a big deal, especially with all the stairs in Venice, but it was a bit of a surprise.
