This condo sits half a mile from the ocean beach in front of the Hilton, where you can spend an amazing morning swimming with dolphins. If golf is your game, you'll find the Waikoloa Beach Resort golf courses less than a mile and a half away where you can play 9, 18, or 27 holes! The Kings’ Shops are about half a mile away, where you can dine at several restaurants and shop at places like Macy’s and Tommy Bahama, enjoy a local favorite at Roy's, or walk across the street to Queen's Marketplace for many more shopping and dining options, including Starbucks, a food court, and the Waikoloa Cinemas where you can catch a movie with lunch or dinner! Our 5-day stay at this unit was an enjoyable one. The condo is very comfortable, spacious and well-cleaned. As a corner unit on the 3rd floor, it has a very private and secure feel. In addition, this particular building’s location within the property, provides very an impressive view of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa & Hualalai from its large wrap-around lanai.The kitchen, linen closets and pantry were well-stocked with utensils, useful provisions and beach equipment, as well as interesting books and games.The community grounds are attractive and well-taken care of, with access to amenities like the pool, hot-tub and gym.The location allows easy access to a large selection of shops, restaurants, scenic walking trails and the beach.Communication with the management company was very smooth through the entire process of reserving, checking in and our stay at the property, as they were very courteous and responsive.We have stayed at a few units at The Shores at Waikƍloa; all have been quite good, but this one was notably our favorite.

Wonderful Waikoloa Escape!

Although not on the beach, several beaches are easily walkable, and many within short driving distance. Pool area was clean and quiet. Restaurant choices were plentiful within walking distance.Condo was well maintained, clean, and had a delightful shaded afternoon view. Overall great vacation!

This condo is nice. Nothing fancy but good for the price. The bed was comfortable enough. The pans and knives were great. No spices just S&P. The air turns off every 4 hours which was kind of a pain. I asked for more beach towels, there was only 2 and they were kids size. They were very prompt delivering. Vacasa was easy to deal with. Thanks for letting us stay!

Quiet condo with mountain views at Shores at Waikoloa

My wife and I stayed here for a week in March to celebrate my birthday and to visit friends who live on the Big Island. The apartment was spacious with a large balcony for outside dining, and we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. It was close to the Kings Shops and Queens Marketplace, plus there was a bar just 100 yards away for casual dining. A minor drawback was that there was not sufficient lighting in the living room or the bedroom to read by in the evenings.

Second visit to the Shores at Waikoloa!

We really enjoyed our two-week stay at this third floor unit. From the large deck, we had a great eastern view of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, as well as the golf course and lava field; this also made it sunny in the morning as well as cool and shady in the afternoon. The unit is very spacious and well equipped, including nice touches like a coffee grinder, ice maker, great air conditioning, beach chairs/umbrellas, and a very complete set of kitchen utensils and supplies. We’ve stayed at the Shores before and really enjoy the meticulous upkeep, spaciousness, and the amenities.

Clean spot however relatively secluded

The condo was large for two people and clean however the owner had control over the thermostat and constantly reset the place to 88 degrees F every 4 hours. This led to a few sleepless nights and is enduring a few hours of the unit trying to get back down when we could change it. The condo has a great view of Mauna Kea and huge patio but by no means is an easy walk to the ocean. I splurged on this site thinking it was close enough to walk but it’s about a 20 minute walk in highly exposed HOT heat. The community is also gated (my first experience with one) and it felt boring to me. Very few people out, almost like a ghost town and those that were there seemed to be a bit dodgy eyed and reclusive, weird vibe altogether. Kona had a much more chill vibe in my mind.

Well stocked kitchen, easy access to the pool, nice view towards the crater.

Quiet, being on the 3rd floor is nice, village has most everything one needs. Pool is pleasant. Kitchen has everything needed to cook. Bed needs new pillows, had lightweight foam ones during our visit. Also the renter pays a cleaning fee but then is instructed to wash and dry beach towels, start another load of towels, take out the trash to the dumpster, meanwhile you are getting texts from VRBO asking the renter to text when you are leaving, all before 10am. Seems like there could be a better way considering all the fees for cleaning and platform support paid to the owner and the rental agency.

If you peered out around the side of the lanai, you could see the ocean. You could not hear it. Bring your own spices as there were none. Kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans & utensils. Pool is just around the corner & great sandy beach about a mile away .
