Avis pour Designer, Dogs, Garden, Fire Pit, 10 min. to DCA
I needed a less expensive option than the $1000/ night rates in National Harbor for a convention of some 8000 people, and this place was perfect.
Avoiding rush hours... a Lyft ride varied from 12-14 minutes to the Gaylord in national harbor. (I hit rush hour one time and that took 40 minutes.)
Nice mid-century decor, well updated. Really efficient well-executed nicely-updated eat-in kitchen. I didn't utilize the backyard at all, but it seemed to offer reasonable space to relax outside - but not a lot of space for kids to runaround, for example).
Easy walk to a dozen+ breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
Host was an effective communicator.
The only thing i will that might be construed as a negative... the bathroom has no counterspace, just a flat toilet top for my toiletries. It didn't bother me, as i just accept that as being part of staying in this beautiful early 1900s neighborhood (and this is in a really quaint/beautiful / walkable neighborhood) and there is simply no way to accommodate counter space in this bathroom.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and would look forward to walking and trying a few more restaurants in this area.
