Lots To Do In This Cozy Oakhurst Farm Guest House

The fully furnished home sleeps six guests comfortably, there is a king-size bed in the primary bedroom with its own private bathroom. The remaining two guest rooms have a queen-size bed and share a guest bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with essential kitchenware and cookware. We set out a welcome tray with snacks, tea bags, and pods for the Keurig K Cups coffee maker. This is a non-smoking property, not suitable for events. Children and pets are considered and require approval before check-in. Be aware of liabilities, there is no fencing and the road is near the house. Please reach out directly to discuss your and your pet's stay.

Family-owned and operated since 1901, Oakhurst has a rich farming tradition operating as a cattle and hay farm. In 2005 we opened the Event Center to share our piece of southern elegance and charm with all who stepped on the land. The Event Center is on the farm's 10-acre lake and features 2 acres of gardens. It can provide indoor or outdoor events including Weddings, Reunions, Corporate Events, or other Special Events.

In 2012 we started expanding on the Agritourism aspect of the farm. We now operate a U-Pick operation from late March through June with strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. There are vegetable sales throughout the summer with locally grown produce and we offer beef sales from our Red Angus herd year-round. We open the farm again in October for our Fall Daze which includes the pumpkin patch and Corn Maze.

We are centrally located off I-185 within driving distance of Pine Mountain, Lagrange, Columbus, West Point, and Auburn/Opelika. Listed below are numerous things to do in the area or sit back and enjoy the views and activities of everyday farm life.

Immaculately Cleaned & Lots of Extras!!
This was probably the cleanest house we have ever stayed aside from our own home! When I say the homeowners/host went above and beyond, I mean it. It also came with so many random extras. We arrived to a bottle of wine, coffee, charcoal, firewood, etc. One of my favorite little things was the first aid kit available. We got there after a long day with my oldest son on a field trip. Of course, my 3-year old fell and scraped his knee. I realized I had forgotten our first aid kit. My nine year old remembered seeing the kit in the closet when checking out the house as we arrived. It was also within 5-15 minutes to everywhere we enjoy in the Pine Mountain/Callaway area. My mother-in-law asked me to make sure a review was left about "the house being exceptional". That alone speaks volumes. ;-) We highly recommend this cute farmhouse!!

Overall cleanliness is wonderful. Be aware that the property is close to a busy road despite being in the country. For most, this won't be an issue, unless you are used to dead silence. View is pretty and access to surrounding areas is quick and easy. Hosts give excellent recommendations on their site!

Clean, Spacious & Expansive views
We were delighted with how clean & spacious the house was. We also enjoyed the views of the rolling hills of Georgia farmland. The house has seating at tables or counter for 16 people; however the living room only seats 4. There is also a patio on the back with seating for 6 overlooking the blueberry & sunflower crops. Our family of four had plenty of space in the 3 bed/2 bath home. (Just a note: There are no tvs or chairs in the bedrooms- which is something the owners should consider adding) This property is close to Callaway Gardens, FDR state park, Wild Animal Safari & within 15 minutes to shopping & restaurants. In the fall the drives to any of these places are filled with beautiful leaf colors. I would highly recommend this property.

Property is well maintained and very clean. In spite of nearby state road, the area is relatively quiet and very comfortable.. Kitchen has everything we needed and the patio provides perfect setting for morning coffee or late evening chats. We highly recommend and hope to return again.
