Overall I was happy with the property and the location. However for some reason the home was not cleaned prior to my arrival. It took me a few days to realize this as I am a single guy, and don't see well without my glasses which I don't typically wear to bed or in the bathroom. So took a few days to realized the bed had no sheets or pillow cases, and the toilet and sink were not cleaned. Then found a pile of dirty towels in the laundry room. I washed and cleaned everything and made the bed because I did not want to wait for a cleaner to show up. A few days later I checked the 2nd bedroom. Same situation no linens. Took me a while to find the dirty ones, stowed away in the closet. This time I reported all this to the property manager, but went ahead and cleaned everything myself, and made the bed. The rest of my stay was fine until check out day. I returned to the house on 1/30 expecting to stay for one more night and found the house had been cleaned and the few things I had not pre-packed were stacked up on the kitchen counters and the bedroom closet. After calling the answering service of the property manager I realized it was my error, and I should have left earlier that day. I did leave the unit at 7PM and stayed the remaining night with nearby family. The unit obviously was not being occupied on 1/30 as no new tenant showed up. I turned in all keys, etc at 8:15AM on 1/31 to the property manager. Here's why I thought I was in the unit until 1/31. I received a confirmation from VRBO that I could stay in the home from 1/1/22 until 1/31/22 and bought my airline tickets accordingly. When the property manger started the lease agreement, they said I could not start the lease on 1/1/22 due to the holiday. In addition they needed 2 days for cleaning at the end of the lease, insisting I leave on 1/30. I was ready to pay for 31 nights, so the owner lost out of some potential revenue. They obvious cleaned the place in less then 1/2 day on the back end, while managing to not clean it at all on the front end. I will be requesting a refund from the property manger of the cleaning deposit I was charged. If you can help with this it would be appreciated. I ended up staying 2 nights with family, 1 night prior to the rental start and 1 night at the end of the rental. Things would have been a lot easier if I could have stayed the 31 nights I had planned on. Very lucky I had family nearby or I would have had to pay for hotel rooms.
