How close is Brandy Factory Hotel to downtown Yerevan?
We booked 3 rooms 3 weeks in advance for the night we flew into Yerevan on hotels.com and another site. I even called the day before saying we would arrive around 930 pm. We get there and he looks surprised and won't tell us what's wrong and just keeps saying to wait for the rooms as he keeps talking on the phone. Finally at about 1030 pm, he tells us they overbooked and he can't help us. There are 6 of us and they have one room. He very conveniently knows an apartment we can rent for the same price. We are told it's better than the hotel, we were so naive. The place they took us to was basically a crackhouse. Smelling of urine and dead animals. Also one of the beds is in the kitchen.
Back at the hotel, 2 of us are shown our King Room with Mountain view, but it's actually not. It's their smallest room with a non-functioning A/C. No sheets on the bed and a shower with a broken door. The sink drained onto the floor and the mirror was broken. So disappointing. I don't even understand how booking sites allow them to operate on their website as a hotel and not a hostel. This place is a bad hostel at best, not a hotel.
To top this all off the guy at the front desk is extremely rude. He acts like we are a burden and it's our fault they overbooked. In the morning, after a couple questions about breakfast he yelled at me that it's at 930.
They said that hotels.com didn't charge us and we paid cash as well as being charged on our credit card. Double charged.
