Nice place with nice staff.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Attached restaurant was very nice. Good quality, service and ambiance. Breakfast was fine. Mixture of bread, cereal, ham, cheese, fruit, hard boiled egg (which seems to be a staple of German/Swiss breakfast), fruit juice and coffee. Location was good. About 10 minutes from the train station. And a couple of minutes from the tram station (with the number 11 tram going into Basel in 30 mins). Loved that you got a free travel pass for your tourist/city tax. Normally this tax just disappears, but it's a great bonus in Basel that you get free travel and discounts on some local attractions in return for your tax money. Room was nice. Fairly good size and with a good shower/ bathroom. I didn't hear a peep out of any other rooms, so sound insulation is obviously good. View out of the window of the Aesch hills was nice. Only issues were that the air conditioning was noisy - it sounded like a strong storm (with gusts of wind) for some reason. There was no storm outside... The German style pillows were also not the most comfortable. Too soft for my liking.

A fantastic experience. The hotel hostess is was warm and accommodating. The breakfast was a highlight and the shower was the best shower I’ve been in. Clean and close to public transportation.

Good, competent hotel for business travel. However, requested, and paid for, a double bed, which turned out to be two singles pushed together with two single duvets, so that wasn't so great. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, and a special shout out to Marcus in the bar - a great host.

Hohe Qualität

Ein Gasthof, der hohe Qualitätsansprüche an sich stellt. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, gehobene Küche, moderne saubere Zimmer. Schade, dass nur 1 von 2 Gästen ein Upgrade bekommen hat (wieso?), bei der tiefen Belegung hätte sich der Gasthof ohne Mühe einen weiteren Pluspunkt sichern können.
