Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and generous sharing their garden bounty with us. The kids REALLY enjoyed the property. Can't thank them enough :-) The location was great; halfway between Salerno to the east and Sorrento to the west. Also, the cute village of Pogerlo was only 700 meter walk; nice restaurants. The bus stop was very convenient.
Stunning home and incredibly friendly and helpful hosts
We have rented plenty of places, but we have never encountered a welcome like this. Even before we arrived, our host family was available to answer questions about the area. They were waiting for us in the street when we arrived to help us park and get our bags down to the house. It was evening when we arrived, and when they asked about our dinner plans, we said we'd probably cook there -- they made us dinner, complete with really good wine they had made themselves, and it was amazing. They also had a table filled with fresh fruit, tomatoes, bread, freshly made olive oil and other treats. There are about 130 steps down to the house. When you get there, you are treated to an incredible view of the Amalfi coast below, and a terrace where you can eat surrounded by gardens, lemon trees, fresh basil, peppers, squash, olives and more. There is also a town up on the main road above, Pergerola, which has great restaurants and shops too, and the proprietors are so generous, always giving more than expected. Our hosts truly made us feel like family. I was a little teary when we left. We all wish we had booked a longer stay and want to go back. This is a place that will stay in our hearts.
Wonderful stay with magnificent views and even better service!
Vrbo
Our stay here was one of the best we have ever had. Raffaele was the most gracious host imaginable, and his English-speaking daughter Rebecca, who also lives next-door, were there in-person or on WhatsApp to answer any question we could possibly have and provide good advice about restaurants and activities.
Especially notable was all the food, drink, fruit, and supplies we were provided for free upon checking in, including wine, olive oil, and unlimited lemons all from Raffaeleâs on-site garden.
The apartment is well-equipped, with 3 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a clothes washer, and full kitchen (though no dishwasher). The kitchen had all the dishes, pots, utensils, and anything else we needed to cook, make drinks, brew coffee, and anything else our heart desired.
But the real showstopper was the view. Three separate porches/patios with seating and views that I will never forget for the rest of my life. The photos on the listing donât do it justice!
A few points that are important: this would not be a good option for someone who has trouble with stairs. The only way to access the apartment is by walking down about 100 steps from the street above. Raffaele made it as easy as possible by insisting on carrying all our luggage both ways (even carrying it back up at 3 am so we could leave in time to make our 6am flight out of Naples!). Parking was also available for an added fee.
10/10 would love to come back every year!
Beautiful house and stunning view. All new and clean inside. 3 balconies to look down on the sea and the town of Amalfi. Be aware the house is 100 steps down from the street but Raphaele, the owner carries all bags up and down for you. 10 minutes bus ride into town but supermarkets and restaurants are wihin walking distance. Raphaele stocks everything like coffee and tea and his home frown fruit. Couldn't do better.
Accommodations were excellent, loved the views , peace and quietness.
At first we were very intimidated by the many steps leading down to the property. We soon got used to this and enjoyed the exercise several times a day. Raffaele and his family were so helpful to us. Delightful hosts.
