Posted Sep. 10, 2022 on HomeAwayWe had a lovely stay. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. Good beds good showers plenty of hot water. Good cooker. The garden was slightly disappointing.

Okay, but not as advertised
Posted Jul. 17, 2022 on HomeAwayThe inside of the unit was okay, beds were comfortable, the place was clean. On the outside was another story. The tidy yard was overgrown, furniture was broken or very dirty and the barbeque was a joke. All rusted out with some old grape vines for fuel.

A lovely place to stay
Posted Oct. 5, 2021 on HomeAwayLovely gite to stay in. The bed was so comfortable. Fantastic walks on the doorstep. Safe garden for my dogs. Amboise is an amazing location so much to do to see to sample great wines. Will defo return next year. Downside could beno WiFi but being on holiday do we really want to be bothered with emails, apps and social media...no so for us it was not a problem. Thoroughly recommended

A beautiful gite in The middle of wine country

A perfect stay to tour Loire valley.

Great value. Lovely peaceful location whilst being fairly close to centre of Amboise.
Posted Sep. 5, 2018 on HomeAwayCharming property with good facilities. Excellent location for visiting chateaux in the area but lovely and quiet for relaxing too. Very good value. The only slight downside is no WiFi connection in the property itself you have to go to the winery just across the road for a connection

Lovely cottage, everything you need and the perfect base for exploring the stunning Loire valley.
Posted May 9, 2018 on HomeAwayWe had a wonderful holiday in Gite de la Bergerie. It is a beautiful, spacious cottage with modern features yet maintains the character of the old building. We had slightly misread the advert - this house has one WC, and does not have toilets in the bathrooms (we had no problem - just for information) The garden was lovely - a complete sun trap and spent some beautiful days just lazing with a glass of cold Touraine watching the clouds go by.
It does not have wifi but has a mobile signal so we brought a Wifi transmitter which worked perfectly.
There is a walk of around 30 minutes to the town of Amboise, which has a steep hill so would be difficult without a car for anyone elderly or with disabilities. We managed perfectly well and enjoyed our walks to and from town. There is a large supermarket in easy driving distance, but you could manage without a car if required as long as you are happy to walk.
Amboise is a lovely town and is perfect to explore the delights of the Loire valley and Chateaux, and has a train station for easy access to other places. We took our car and got the ferry to Caen, but you could easily fly into Tours.
Willy also produces his own wine and beer and he offers wine tasting - his shop is 2 minutes walk away.
We also had a fabulous day harvesting grapes and wine tasting at "Vignoble Alain-Robert" - well worth a visit if you are arriving in September/October.
In summary, I would highly recommend this house, Willy and the Loire. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Lovely gite in the Loire
Posted Mar. 16, 2017 on HomeAwayLovely clean and very well equipped gite - perfect for exploring the Loire. Great to be able to cross the road to the cave to buy wine for the evening and even have an apero there!!! We went in February and it could have done with being a touch warmer inside. Would love to come again and enjoy the outside space. Thanks very much

Posted May 10, 2024 on HomeAwayNous avons passé une superbe semaine. La maison est spacieuse magnifiquement refaite avec un extérieur ce que nous recherchons en priorité. C’est un havre de paix à deux minutes du centre et des commodites.
L hôte est charmant et discret.
Nous recommandons cette adresse sans aucune réserve.
