Hotel Estherea is a unique hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, close to the 9 Streets. We absolutely loved the decor of the hotel, the attentive staff and the lounge areas of the hotel, which felt like a throwback to a bygone age. Each room has it's own individual decor, and excellent amenities, which makes your stay even more special. If you're lucky you may meet Wimmels the hotel's resident cat, who holds court in the reception. I would highly recommend the hotel, and we will definitely visit again.

Location is wonderful. Service very helpful.

Very conveniently location; just steps from everything we wanted to see. Perhaps most people absolutely love the old world charm. But I found the rooms small and inconveniently laid out and a bit of an overload. Service was 100% nice and helpful.

The perfect place to stay in central Amsterdam

This charming hotel strikes the perfect balance between comfort and timeless elegance, with traditional decor that gives each room a warm, inviting character. The lobby is a true haven—plush seating and a comfortable atmosphere make it an ideal spot to relax. The staff have a great welcoming attitude, making you feel at home. And the coffee? The espresso machine alone is worth the stay—barista-level brews on demand. Finally, the hotel is in amazing central location that's close to all the top spots.

What a beautiful and quaint hotel in a great location. My European vacation included stays in five different hotels and this was my favorite by far. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.Free pastries, candy and an open coffee bar was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast buffet was also our favorite. And the two resident cats were adorable!!! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

We arrived in the evening of the city’s 750th birthday celebration. Our rooms were perfect and silent even with the party below. We loved the location and hotels ambiance. We will return next time we are in Amsterdam

Good hotel except for one big thing

I really enjoyed most aspects of this hotel. The location is great; it’s close to a lot of top attractions and is near public transportation to access other attractions. The decor is a little old school, but with a lot of fun touches. The AC works really well on hot days and the snacks in the lobby (and the cat) are nice, unique touches. However, the hotel asks you to leave the key at the front desk before you leave the hotel and it feels very unsecure. You can come back and ask for any key and they’ll just give it to you. No one checks to make sure you’re getting the key to the right room, so if someone really wanted to ask for your key and steal your stuff they could. Also, if you are trying to retrieve your key when a lot of people are checking in or out, it could take upwards of ten minutes to get the key back. It’s a truly horrible system and might prevent me from staying here in the future. Also, the only reason they have this system is because they attach big tassels to the key cards, which is not even necessary. So this cumbersome, unsafe system just exists because of an aesthetic choice with the keys.

You really need to take the bus to get to Lisbon from her for 1 hour before taking an Uber to the bus station. Quiet and the staff was nice plus the breakfast was great but farther than I planned so my issue. Town very quiet but the people seemed nice.

Estheréa is one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. We have stayed there 4 times. This time was disappointing. I think they gave us the smallest room because we booked with Expedia. Staff were short with us and the maitre d was downright rude. We will find somewhere else next time.

The hotel and unique rooms are beautiful and charming. Most everything is within walking distance. We were there during a warm spell, and our room got very warm. While the air conditioning was on the day we checked in, we couldn’t get it to work afterwards. They offer coffee and cookies throughout the day, but the coffee machine was on the fritz a couple of times. Overall, we enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it.

Gorgeous hotel in a perfect location making all sites walkable! Hotel itself is uniquely decorated in a bold elegant fashion. Adorable bar with great drinks and friendly talented staff! Afternoon snacks are a bonus! Also 2 fabulous cats who visit the lobby daily. Highly recommend!!
