Wonderful family spot in Anchor Point

Captain Cook Lodge is an amazing place to stay! Beautiful building, immaculately decorated and maintained. We were really comfortable with our 3 generations (grandparents, mom and dad, and two littles). Communication with the Johns was great, and we saw moose the last night there!

No hot water in taps, no heating in home, we stayed there for one night… arrived at 10PM checked out at 11AM… did not use the kitchen much, still they charged us 61USD for cleaning.

Amit, I am so sorry that you are upset about the cleaning fee charge. Expedia does notify customers at the time of the reservation that this fee will be collected by the property owner. The charge pays for a part of our cost to assure that our buildings are sparkling clean for each guest. I don't understand your comment "no hot water in taps". The building has an on-demand water heater, and it was working fine before and after your stay. It provides an unlimited amount of hot water. Also don't understand "no heat in building" as there are two, energy efficient heaters in the building that are also working fine. They can be easily adjusted to operate at a comfortable temperature. Our written instructions in the building encourage our guests to contact us if they have any questions. We are right here on the property and ready to make your stay better than you expected.Again, I am sorry about the confusion concerning the cleaning fee.I hope you had a great visit to the Kenai Peninsula.

We really enjoyed our stay in our cabin. I can see how it would be a good choice for people. The owner is most helpful, the place is clean and is well equipped. For me I would want to be a bit closer to town next time, there were x4 single beds and no double and whilst the lazy boy couch is a cool feature my wife does like to cozy up on an evening. All I am saying here is there may be other cabins with a different set up that may suit your needs better. Otherwise a great cabin and we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for staying with us in the Moose Cabin and for the great comments. Our location, 15 minutes from Homer, gives our guests a sample of natural Alaska, but gets them a little away from the busy commercial activities of the city. Moose Cabin is our smallest building and is a great choice for smaller groups. Some guests require the 4 twin beds. Our other 3 vacation homes on the property do have both twin and queen-size beds and offer a different seating arrangement in the family room.

Better than expected. Well equipped. One bedroom was not a bedroom but an entry porch.

Needs a hot tub. Lots of mosquitos. All twin beds, except one. Great place for a big group.

We're glad you enjoyed the Wise Old Hunter Lodge. We rarely have an issue with biting insects but there can be times when the Alaska mosquitoes and the no-see-ums can be pesky. A good repellent seems to be the best answer for that situation. We considered hot tubs but decided against that after researching potential hot tub health hazards, even with proper chemical additions. Try searching that on google. We hope to see you on your next trip to Anchor Point.

This is a beautiful property! We enjoyed our stay. The beds are comfortable and the two bathrooms are spacious and clean. My friends like to cook and they specially appreciated the stocked kitchen.
