Nobody has cared for this property. You see rotten wood on the staircases, part of the lobby roof leaked. They said they did renovation after the hurricane but what they did made it worse. The front fountain doesn’t work, isn’t it supposed look nice when you enter a resort?The pool is nice but you don’t see them really clean it. The main night spot to sit and meet people the wicker couches and chairs don’t have cushions. Has anybody sat on a wicker chair with no cushion. You feel the metal structure that’s holding the chair together. When it rained you would be sitting in puddles as they’d only clean and wipe in the morning. They assume if they put a sign out that it’s slippery it negates them from doing anything about it. The buffet was ridiculous. No real choices, the fish was either raw or burnt along with the chicken and pork. There were only a few staff that were nice. The other staff were lazy and it was as if you were bothering them. I asked for a coke and they gave me a can sitting on the counter. I asked if I could have one out of the fridge and it was a chore . I guess too lazy to bend over. You saw lots of managers but not doing anything except standing around. They should open their eyes and really look at what staff do and correct it. It’s truly sad as I was at this same resort when it was a Riu and had an amazing time. They cleaned, food was good and all the staff were friendly. I would never go back to a Secrets. My first and onlyDefinitely not worth the money

The customer service was very good. Everyone was nice and very accommodating; however, I asked to be moved as my room smelled like mildew. The room I moved to had roaches, backdoor was broken and would not lock, front door security lock was broken off. The pool was not cleaned and sand was in the pool. The restaurant had too many flies and mosquitos and I could not enjoy the food, often having to leave hungry. The flies also covered the food during breakfast. Birds fly in and try to take your food. The bars often ran out of main ingredients or liquor to make drinks daily. The pool bar closed at 5:30pm and 6 on Friday and Sat. The best restaurant (Japanese) was only open once during a 4 day stay. There was no Wi-Fi available by the pools. The Excursion desk was closed Fri-Sun. There was a lack of entertainment and really nothing to do here. I was very disappointed and I felt like I spent a lot of money to have this Secrets experience...I will not be returning to this resort and I wish I could get a refund...This resort gave me Red Roof Inn vibes...

Very nice and clean. Staff was great. Property and area outdated. Swim up bar was not a swim up bar. Couldn’t get a drink in pool had to get out to get a drink. Theater closed and some other areas not open. So not much to do. No activities going on daily as the brochure showed. Need some upgrades and more for the price paid to go back.

Unfortunately, our experience at the resort was far from memorable—for the wrong reasons. From the start, we encountered rudeness and a lack of accommodation at the front desk, which set the tone for our stay. That said, I would like to recognize Rolinda and the male staff member working with her at the bar for their warmth and hospitality, as well as the friendly buffet staff. However, the overall dining experience was unacceptable. The buffet food was unappetizing, largely due to a fly infestation and birds flying freely in the seating area. At one point, a bird even defecated on my back while I was eating. Given these conditions, my group and I will not be returning to this resort, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to others.

Property didn’t meet the standard of a five star resort. Several rusted areas, dirty walls and stained floors. The eating areas and landscape were well kept but overall the property was noticeably deteriorated.

I liked the hotel, the food, and the drinks, but it needs more activities, more music. The atmosphere is very calm, enough for retirees. It's a place where a lot of older people go, which is fine, but for young people, it's very quiet. I liked it, but I wouldn't go back. It's very safe, and the staff is very friendly.

I have read the reviews before booking this hotel and people mentioned it’s have been remodeled. Not sure what remodeling they are talking about but this property need major repairs, the lobby does not look welcoming and looks empty, the dining area same just huge plain room with tables and chairs, what happened to decor and making it welcoming and cozy, i said they need good chefs who can cook good food and people who know little bit about designing , they are understaffed about 3 servers. Every morning we come for breakfast and there are no utensils, after asking for it you have to wait so long, I could of done it myself but there are birds and flies that get on your food if you walk away. I ask for coffee and by the time I get it I am done with breakfast. They do not have much choices for food. Dinner is only two options and it’s same food every day, only few choices that you get tired eating after few days. Sushi was good. But I do not want to eat sushi every day. Beach is nice but there is a dump over the mountain on the R side and they burn their trash so it’s stink almost every day. The only thing I was eating there is omelette and pineapples for breakfast and this is all inclusive hotel, all other fruits did not taste that fresh. I liked live music. I do not drink alcohol so I did not care about drinks. Maybe for people who like to drink this place is good but I like to have good food and nice beach, this is my experience and I am not planning to come back here.

Beautiful beach, pool and nice rooms. Service at the pool and pool bars was excellent! The food was terrible! The restaurants were closed! The buffet was horrible! Very limited choices! Only basic items were eatable. All meat and fish were overcooked, dried out and looked very unappealing! Flies all over!!! Just overall poor and low quality food and ambiance of the place! Also, the property is completely run down! It’s not up to the Secrtes standard! They need major upgrades to eating facilities / buffet and restaurants and bathrooms! And major upgrades to the lobby!
