Quartier malsain, hotel + quartier trĂšs bruyant

la chambre était convenable, mais c'est bien la seule chose. Nous avons été surpris de devoir payer une caution (?) à notre arrivée. Deux personnes étaient assises par terre dans les couloirs à écouter de la musique, d'autres préfÚrent sortir de leur chambre pour téléphoner dans le couloir, aucune de ces personnes ne parlait anglais (l'hotel est pourtant situé aux USA). des camions garés sur le parking font tourner leur moteur jusqu'à minuit. le parking et ses alentours sont remplis de gens qui trainent dehors (ils ne parlent pas non plus anglais). au pays des tips, un réceptionniste faisant le service minimum... et répondant à une question par : allez voir sur internet. L'offre de l'hotel était nuit+petit déjeuner. Le coin petit déjeuner était composé de 2 pommes, 2 yaourts, il semblait y avoir du café (ce n'est pas par personne, mais bien pour tout l'hotel!) désolé, je n'ai pas fait de photo, j'avais trop peur de me faire voler mon téléphone.

When I arrived there was no trash can in room. The front desk gave me one. Then I realized there was no shower curtain. I asked front desk to provide one, they never did in four days. There was visible mold in the bathroom. If there had been ANY other facilities in the area, I would have left. Place is dirty and vastly overpriced. It’s a dump.

Check in went well but on the walk to our room there was clearly issues with the standard of the hotel. Extremely dated decor. Walls had deposits on them which can only be described as caramel looking. Significant amounts of damage to paintwork and walls, and most significantly was the smell of wet/mould plus air freshener. First room we had, half the floor was very wet to the point it squelched when you stood on it and it soaked through socks immediately. Smell was stronger inside the room. Reception very quickly arranged a new room which did not have a damp floor but had a stronger mould/wet and air freshener smell plus deposits on the wall. I again complained to reception and explained with all of these issues a third room wasn’t a solution and we would not be staying past the first night. To their credit they were very helpful and arranged a refund of the remaining nights. They explained that the rooms had recently been deep cleaned but they clearly hadn’t been ventilated afterwards. I honestly believe that had we stayed we would have suffered respiratory issues because of the room environment. I appreciate it’s a 2 Star accommodation but it did not feel a safe environment to stay. If we hadn’t arrived late and been so tired, and if the windows weren’t safe to open, we would not have stayed the first night.

I have stayed here before, and I will again.

A hotel in a college area. It is old and has not been upgraded or remodeled in a very long time. I am happy to save $25 per night with outdated decor. The sheets and towels are clean. The floors are vacuumed. The showers have good water pressure and hot water. There is ZERO smell of mustiness in any room—something that would be a deal breaker for me. Climate control machines within rooms work well. Each room has a 2.5 cubit foot fridge, a mini-microwave, a mini-single cup coffee machine, and a small (32”) flatscreen TV. The morning breakfast has waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, juice, milk, yogurt, coffee, decaf coffee. No eggs. The hotel has a small fitness / laundry room. It has a stair-step machine, a bicycle machine, and a treadmill. No weights. Next door on one side is Cousins (sub sandwiches), and Scooters (coffee). On the other side, Layne’s (fast food fried chicken; huge line), and Denny’s (7am to 10pm). Next to Denny’s, across a short parking lot, is a Starbucks and a Panera’s. Something to watch out for: the switches control the lamps, which means they control the convenient outlets on the lamps. The hotel was built before electronic gadgets became essential. If you are charging electronics, as I do, you will need to make sure the outlet stays on. I slightly loosened the light bulbs at night; and tightened them in the morning. It was also not built with ADA in mind. For that, go to a newer hotel; Super8's retro-accessibility is insufficient.

The room was terrible, the bathroom light worked only occasionally, there was black mold on the ceiling in the shower. The bed skirts were absolutely filthy, my sheets were stained and the room smelled horrible. We stayed 2 nights and I could not wait to get out of the room and go home!!!

Customer service was horrible. The hotel did not look all that clean either. I would never stay there again and would advise no one else should either. Could not enjoy myself because the hotel was that bad.

Appleton Super 8 Review

Motel staff was friendly but the general maintenence of the corridors and rooms seemed understaffed. Room service cart was left in the corridor, open doors to uncleaned rooms, the cleanliness of the motel carpeting was poor, as was the cleanliness of the room in general. There was a spilled food stain on the room desk chair, so didn'tsit on. The linens and towels were clean, but sanitary wipes were used on furniture and counter surfaces to make room stay feel more comfortable. The carpet was dirty and bathroom floor was not clean. Did't want to walk in bare feet or socks within the room. The shower/tub foor was not clean and the underside of the tub mat was dirty. Imagined showering under an outdoor campground shower to not feel grossed out while showering. The condition of the room and furniture was worn. The better room features were the refrigerator which was spacious with a functioning freezer and the television that functioned well. The surfaces of the phone and hair dryer were not clean so were also wiped. Would rate the quality of this motel inferior to stays at other economy motel establishments such as the Wyndham Baymont stayed at previously across the street. Departed too early the following morning to catch a flight so cannot rate the breakfast service. Will not book a return stay at this establishment.

The price is enticing, but it’s not worth it.

We did not have a good experience in this hotel. The hallways were dirty, as well as some parts of the rooms. There were blood stains on the side of the mattresses and some dead cockroaches on the window sill. The bath tub was squishy in the middle, so we stood on the outsides to hopefully not break through. There were a lot of people in and out of the building all day/night - we assumed maybe they lived here. The building indicates that there is no smoking inside or within 25 feet of the building, but as soon as you enter, you get blasted by the smell of weed and cigarettes, and there were cigarette butts on the hallway floor. When we walked through the hall to our rooms, people would open their doors and look around at us like maybe we were someone they were waiting for. It was pretty creepy that we ended up leaving two days earlier than our booking ended and went somewhere else. It was the best money I ever lost out on. If you’re looking for a bed to sleep in, this will do, but if you have a family, I’d avoid it and spend the money to stay somewhere down the road.
