We enjoyed the property, nicely decorated and more of a boutique vibe. Loved the wrap around balcony and charm. Everyone we encountered was pleasant. Room was clean and updated. Reasons we did not give it five stars: housekeeping on our floor at 7-8 pm was very loud speaking on their walkie and slamming doors off and on the throughout the evening. I know the place is older and not sound proof but it did not appear that they tried to lower their voices, etc. Had reservations to eat at the highly rated restaurant on site. Reviews mentioned to expect to spend $75-$100pp w/o drinks. No prices in the menu. Once seating, it was very underwhelming. No privacy, tables very close together. It felt like we were in everyone’s conversation around us. On top of that, the waiter at the hostess stand was taking room service orders on speaker for all of us to enjoy. I knew I’d be disappointed if we spent $200 on a meal in that environment, it did not feel like an upscale date night. We decided to leave and try something else.

We mostly just slept here Our bed was comfortable. Our 5th floor room was miles better than our 2nd fl room. We can't rate the hotel a 10 for some details are not perfect. The vents in the rooms all needed cleaning, dust was visible from the outside and on the ceiling, the desk chairs are peeling and tattered, the sheer curtains should not be a dirty beige. Some color in the room would be nice. Also we can see all the areas where touch up paint was applied because it wasn't in the same texture as original paint. The $20 per day to park your own car seems over the top and just an additional source of revenue for hotel- valet while nice when you arrive just doesn't make sense when you leave as the one person. At the door has to leave their post to get your car... The lobby is pretty and the bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. 💯

Bad room, bad service and no concern

Never accept a first floor room because you'll have a 6am wakeup from the noisy hotel staff. NO HOT WATER TWO DAYS. No parking for normal sized cars. Very Spartan furnishing for a king suite. When I complained about cold shower the staff just said;' yes we've been having problems with plumbing." It's too bad that this beautiful old property is is operated so poorly.

Property needs renovation. Room smelled like a skunk sprayed it. Inadequate Parking and so tight cars could not get in and out of parking spaces . I watched my car being hit.

!st time visiting this area and this hotel was highly recommended. LOVED the property - Breakfast and Dinner were delicious with fast/friendly service. Michael was very helpful and informative. Will stay again when back in the area.
