Just OK for the price

Lobby was under construction so had to checkin down the hall in one of the rooms. Room wasn't ready at 4:00. Was told we could grab a bite in the restaurant which opened at 4:00. Went down but it was closed. Waited about 20 minutes and then went back to lobby. Fortunately room was ready. Room was nice. Beds comfortable. AC could have been stronger. Facilty and grounds need to be updated. Shuttle service was good. Never had to wait long and drivers were really nice. Restaurant is simple, but breakfast was excellent. Get there early to avoid wait for food. Overall we had a comfortable stay, but it was not worth the price. 2-3 star hotel at 5 star rates.

Loved this property they were very. I’ve . We were early and they allowed us to check in early and we got to enjoy the pool and Lunch and get our vacation started early . The free shuttle service for this hotel was great and very convenient for all our rides . This hotel was very quiet and relaxing and pool was nice and nice the pool was real refreshing . And Java the cat that hangs out around the pool he was such a charm too

Loved this place but didn’t realize that it was Isolated from downtown, requiring a shuttle to get back and forth. Or a very steep walk too much for this 73 y/o. Midweek there was always a shuttle available, but in peak travel days, this could be a problem.

Don’t stay, book a hotel closer to shore

It wasn’t my best stay. I honestly was my worst. I hated every minute, I hated the wait for the hotel shuttle waste of 30 mins waiting everytime you need to go down or up the hill. I was the first off the boat because I had just had ankle surgery and first to call the shuttle for 1 adult 2 kids, waited over a hour while they picked up everyone but us telling me “opps my bad I just picked up 6 people thinking it was you.” Once we got up the hill after paying $20 for a taxi because the hotel shuttle wouldn’t . Once up the hill the hotel was under construction. Never would I book a hotel under construction in a beautiful island , it Looked horrible the Hotel had everyone in a line waiting out the building to check into rooms. I ended up crying outside and trying to figure out how to cancel this hotel and change it, they wouldn’t allow me to. It honestly was my worst trip to Catalina and I have been over 100x and I will never I Repeat Never will I stay here again unless someone figures this situation out after ruining my whole trip something. This place used the be okay now it’s just run down and horrible.

Very disappointing stay, not worth the price Our room was extremely dirty: the sheets and blankets had obvious stains, including blood on the blanket and dark spots on the pillows and sheets. It was clear they hadn’t been changed before we arrived. The internet was so slow that I had to use my phone’s hotspot the entire time. The TV was outdated with very few channels. One of the biggest issues was that the hotel was under construction, which was not communicated beforehand. The lobby and advertised amenities were unavailable. Only the pool and a small restaurant were open. The online photos are misleading because they show facilities that you can’t actually use right now. The location is far from Avalon and the free shuttle is very unreliable. When we arrived, we waited over an hour for the shuttle but it never came, so we had to walk up a steep hill with our luggage for about 20 minutes. We paid a high price expecting a full-service hotel with all the amenities shown online, but we got none of that. I do not recommend staying here until they finish construction and improve their housekeeping and services.

The gym was really dirty. The water cooler had mold on it and the floor all around was really dirty. Equipment was dusty. Our shower smelled moldy and there and the grout was dirty. The room was ok and pleasant enough. The staff were nice. It's pretty far from town though so you have to take the shuttle or walk about 15 minutes into town.
