Excellent service, free perks for Expedia members, and the free transit pass was a pleasant surprise. The Keg restaurant is right in the lobby, nice hot pools and spa. Definitely recommend!

This property was very nice- has a spa and the Keg on site and the parking was free. They included 4 complimentary 3-day bus passes for our family and check-in and check-out was quick and easy. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Nothing special about the property, It's a typical lodge. My disappointment falls in the the false advertising with the property and Expedia. They showed (have since taken it down) a very inviting outdoor pool, which was the second photo in the rolodex of pictures. At $600/night, as most properties were when I was booking, that pool was the deciding factor in my booking. When I got to the property and settled in, I went to see where the pool was... well the front desk wasn't surprised to find me looking for it, as lots of customers do, except its not on the property, its a "spring" located somewhere else. Also theres no AC, so put the fan on and slept with the window open, only to be woken up all night by the trains blasting their horns as the went by, 1-2 (small) blocks away. Then there was refrigeration Semi trucks parked behind us in the morning after a bad nights sleep, constantly running as they need to keep the food cold. Another thing as well, the Gondola. We booked through our hotel the last night we were there to go up the Gondola for Dinner. We were told theres restaurants up there that serve, until the mountain shut down, as we were one of the last groups up... however, they failed to mention that 2 of the 3 restaurants were closed for a private event, and the only other one had shut down by the time we were ready to eat... $200 for the two of us to go up there, specifically for a dinner at the top of the mountain... Banff however is beautiful. But I had to share

We thought the hotel was OK. The rooms were a bit dated, and the amenities at the hotel were limited, such as coffee in the hotel lobby not there. Staff seemed friendly and helpful.

The restaurant had excellent food. There was no swimming pool though there was a large hot tub type pool. There was no free coffee in the morning, which some other hotels have. The room was comfortable and well organized, but on the small side. Overall, it was a very nice hotel.

For the amount of money we paid we expected more. There was not enough parking so we had to park down the street. The staff didnt seem to make any apologies for this.

Good and bad

We had a suite booked, which was lovely, had a jacuzzi bath with a view out the window onto the mountains, however at night/morning you had to climb into the bath to pull the blind down/up and the bath was quite high, so it was a struggle getting in and out, and I feel I’m fit for my age. The most bizarre thing was you get a coffee machine and tea bags in the room but they don’t supply milk, asked reception for some and they said they don’t supply it and suggested I tried in the keg (restaurant) within hotel, they said it would be $4 for a thimble full, walked down to petrol station and purchased 500ml for $3.99. Lastly, the height of the entrance to their underground car park is only 6ft 4” tall, we had a GMC Yukon which wouldn’t fit under so we had to park in the street, the reception gave me a ticket which showed we had paid for parking, I could only find one spot round the back of the hotel which was quite close to a fire hydrant, there were no signs or instructions, so I left the car there went back to reception and told them exactly where I had parked, they stated that was fine to leave it there, the following morning I had a $75 fine for parking within 5 meters of the hydrant. Not impressed, in the UK we don’t have fire hydrants so don’t know the dos and don’t, but you’d think the staff would, so be careful.
