The owners were very sweet and attentive. They allowed us to stay an extra hour past their normal check out time. I would definitely stay there again. The only downfall is that the property sits beside a main road with a lot of traffic.

A great one night stay

Room was cozy and clean, decorated so cutely, and perfect for a one-night stay. It is close to Acadia, and a little farther from downtown bar harbor, which was a plus for us. Very quiet an quaint.

Sunnyside was cute and exactly what we needed for a couple night stay while visiting Acadia National Park. The staff were very kind and welcoming, the room was as described, and the exterior is adorable. We just docked it a bit because the walls are thin - we could easily hear our neighbors and their TV through the walls. Thankfully, we were usually too tired for these things to bother us, but if you're a light sleeper or easily disturbed this is something to consider. Also, our heater when we turned it on smelled - it likely hadn't been turned on yet for the season, but we turned it off because it smelled so strongly and then were very cold at night. Overall, if you're on a budget and just looking for a place to stay, would recommend.

If your main intent is to visit the Acadia National Park, the property is actually closer to the park entrance proper (and avoids the "zoo" of Bar Harbor during the height of the tourist season).

We had a fantastic stay at the Sunnyside Motel & Cottages! The manager is so sweet and helpful and very accommodating with our late arrival due to travel delays. We had a room, not a cottage. It was very clean and comfortable. The only thing I would mention is that there is a refrigerator, but no microwave or coffee maker. Overall, for the price, I would definitley stay here again.

I stayed a total of four nights. The place was very clean and quiet (my room was towards the back), though the motel was full. I did not rent a car, there were two shuttle pick-up spots within walking distance. In the evening, shuttle drivers would drop me off right by the property when I gave them advanced notice. Very conveniently located. Helen (the owner) is very nice and shared interesting story and useful trip information of the area. I enjoyed my stay there.

Good things: The bed was comfy. The room was cleaned well every day with new towels. The heat/ air conditioner worked well. The parking was very convenient. Unfortunate things: Communication was poor. Once when we went to the office, there was nobody at the desk, and though we waited nobody came out. Another time, after waiting someone did appear from the back. We didn’t feel very welcome. The phone in our room didn’t work. The internet spotty was not a secure connection. We could only use the laundry before 8:00 pm, but we never did find the laundry. There was no microwave or coffeemaker in room, which we missed. Coffee was available only in the office after 8 am. The sink stopper did not work.

The cottage was very cute, very convenient. The owners are very nice and offer coffee in the morning in the office! Room was cute, clean and quiet. The only complain is that the shower was very tiny, but that’s it!! Loved my stay, thank you :)

The room I had was older, but had a charm about it. However, it did not have many plugs in which to charge devices. The area was very quiet, which is good. However, one would need a car as it is about 10 miles away. There was a bbq grill, a pool and a laundry room. I can’t comment on these as I did not use them.
