"Sky's Landing" Beach House ☀ Hood Canal


It's time for you to get away from the big city hustle and bustle at “Sky's Landing'....The perfect place to get away for a romantic weekend or a family beach adventure!

This beautiful, 2 story, Cape-Cod style home is perched on 100’ of waterfront on Hood Canal’s North Shore. A generous bulkhead provides plenty of open deck space, along with a small yard. Small boats may be tied up on the beach, which slopes down to a plentiful oyster bed at low tide. Larger boats may be launched at the public dock one mile down the road, and moored on a nearby buoy. The Hood Canal is blessed with the warmest water in the Puget Sound.

Enjoy a sunset dinner on the large deck that has a patio table with umbrella and seats six. Cozy up around the brick and stone firepit, making s’mores or sipping wine on the beach.

The home has views from every room, being very light, bright and open. The main floor has a great room from kitchen to dining to living area. For your cooking needs, you will enjoy the fully equipped gourmet kitchen or propane grill. The kitchen is first class with cherry cabinets, stainless steel appliances and Denby dishes. French doors lead from the dining area to the huge deck for outdoor living.

Upstairs is mostly open with the only doors being for the kids' room, closets, full bathroom and utility room. The loft is open to the lower dining area in the middle of the house. The main 'bedroom' is open to below with a curtain for privacy. It has a large closet, California King Tempurpedic bed and Hotel Collection linens. Glass doors lead to a balcony for your morning coffee with Canal and Mount Rainier views. The smaller bedroom is now enclosed with new (2017)twin bunkbeds. The large bathroom has a huge soaking tub that includes the shower, which has views of the water. The home is really best for one couple or a small family with adults and children. This is a single family home and is approximately 1200 SF.

* New couches in living room 2017. A new sleeper sofa, with memory foam mattress is a size Queen +. The house can now sleep six: 4 adults plus 2 kids

BRAND NEW HOT TUB, April 2023.

Sky’s Landing is located on a loop road that is an offshoot from the busy North Shore Road. With greatly reduced traffic it is a safe, comfortable place for pets and children. Our driveway has room for 1 car off the road, at the house. Larger and extra vehicle parking is available across the street.
Enjoy wild life watching: seals, otters, heron, eagles, fish, and the occasional whale. We guarantee a wonderful waterfront experience. It is a beautiful setting, with no better pebble beach on the Canal!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sky's Landing! We initially ran into booking issues with the site but Nichole was responsive, easy to work with, and it set the stage for a great trip. The property was well-equipped and met our needs, and the being right on the water made for a very relaxing experience. The house is on a quiet drive which was wonderful for walking, and still centrally located a short drive from restaurants and grocery stores, etc. We'd certainly stay at Sky's Landing again and would recommend to others!

Escape from the city

We had a fabulous time at this beautiful home. And we were thrilled to have such a sunny weekend in June, as you never know in the PNW. It was quiet, off the main road, we felt worlds away from it all. We will definitely stay here again!

What a great location!

We booked a stay just for immediate family, and we were very pleasantly surprised at how wonderful Sky's Landing is! If you want a waterfront location on the Hood Canal, you cannot get more waterfront than this. Seriously, at high tide, the water is like 5 or 10 feet off the deck. Really easy access for kayaking, really easy access for anything in the water. The property is nice and clean and has plenty of places to sit and watch the canal. We even had rain for part of our trip, and it was amazing to just sit and watch it fall on the water. We will definitely be back next summer.

Very Nice Stay

Great waterfront with A/C which kept the rental cool on hot days. Beautiful property with a large deck. The rental is on a private road so you don't hear the traffic noise. It's a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Every room has a waterfront view including the big soaking tub with a shower head. There is some noticeable wear and tear in the house, but nothing to spoil your stay. It's still a beautiful rental. The sofabed mattress is firm and wide the way I like it. Love the kitchen with everything we need to cook. The only complaint is the knives are dull. It took me double the time to cut and slice veggies and meat. We tried sharpening the knives to no avail. The 3 kayaks, water guns and a new hot tub kept my kids busy and away from their devices. The kids saw a seal while kayaking. There are lots of oysters at low tide to enjoy. The neighbor with the shared driveway is very friendly to us which made our stay even better.

Amazing Beach Home

We had not stayed on the North shore of the canal before so did not know what to expect. The house was perfect for our family of 4. No bank waterfront was very cool. We had a fire on the beach every night and roasted oysters picked right off the beach. The one car in the parking lot is no joke. The Neighbor will let you know immediately if you have two cars down, even if you are just unloading. After the initial incident, he was very pleasant though. There is plenty of parking in the driveway across the street so it was not an issue at all. We will definitely be back.

Just what we needed

Sky's Landing is a lovely property. And you cannot get any closer to the water as high tide comes nearly all the way to the outdoor fire pit. While we didn't partake, oysters look like they can be harvested right from the property. Nichole was very responsive and didn't hesitate or complain about answering all of my questions. And when we arrived to no wifi (and no cellular service), she was prompt in helping us get everything resolved. Due to the smoke and being a little under the weather, we couldn't do everything the property had to offer, but my partner did take some time to kayak. So relaxing! And while I had some limitations, I still was sad to leave. It was so peaceful. And fun to watch all the boats and activity on the water all day and night. A couple thoughts for those wanting to book this beautiful property: * There aren't a lot of windows that can be opened due to holes in some of the screens. * Parking is directly beside the house near the dock. If you see the dock in front, and a sidewalk to the side, you're in the right spot. Backing into the spot is recommended as it'll make it easier to leave. * The heating can be finicky. We were there during the change of seasons and needed the heating and the cooling. Cooling worked great but heating took some effort, We ended up just using a lot of blankets. If you're looking for a nice change of pace with some great amenities and a caring host, this place is for you. Hopefully you will see the Great Blue Heron that became our friend as well.

Had a great time here. The location really cannot be beat. There is a decent private beach in the front "yard" by day and at night, it looks like the house is floating on the water. Pro tip: don't forget to turn on the hot tub (like we did!) When you arrive. Would def stay here again.

Perfect Getaway!

My husband and I spent a few days at this amazing house on Hood Canal and it was so relaxing! Everything was perfect...exactly as advertised, although the pictures do not do it justice. Enjoyed the kayaks, jacuzzi, fire pit and cooking in the well equipped kitchen. We will be back for sure! Loved this place!

Hood Canal Paddlers' Paradise

This was our second stay at Sky's Landing and although we were less lucky with the weather this time, we loved our week long getaway filled with hot tub time, oyster shucking right off the beach, grilling, paddle boarding and kayaking on the mirror like Hood Canal waters. So peaceful! Enjoyed visits from resident otters and seals just off the beach, we love this place!

Make this a favorite getaway!

This was the perfect spot to just relax and be in the moment. All the windows and the gorgeous view give you a sense of being far away from everything. I was celebrating my birthday with dear friends and we talked and walked and slept great and enjoyed every minute. It was hard to leave and we've already talked about when we can make our schedules work so we can schedule it again. Great place!
