Basic but perfectly adequate for a 1 or 2 nights
Stayed for 1 night whilst visiting a friend locally. Hotel was comfortable and clean. Although a bit dated in style. Bed was enormous! But comfy and good pillows. Bathroom clean and great pressure in the shower. Breakfast was an additional £10 & absolutely delicious. Big shoutout to James on reception who was very welcoming, professional and friendly. Lovely young lady serving breakfast too but didn't get her name. Would stay again when in area.
We stayed here for 3 nights recently and found the Westmead to be a nice quiet hotel with tons of parking.
The local train station park and ride was just 10 or so minutes away with easy and quick access to Birmingham Town Centre, However the Westmead is a little out of the way so unless you drive there isn't much nearby to walk to.
Room was good but could do with updating although clean. Would not have breakfast again. Order full English arrived without toast. no condiment on table only salt and pepper asked for sauce. Waitress served two other clients with cereal before bringing toast and sauce. Breakfast was cold. Reception staff very good. Stayed here many times but this was disappointing.
All good, a double room with king size bed, en-suite with shower over bath.
Breakfast was on included, first day, served from menu, the second day, a buffer. Much preferred the former!
On-site function on both evenings with loud music beyond midnight, but sound proofing adequate.
The exterior was nice but the room had a mouldy smell and there was weird stains on the walls and could feel crumbs on the carpet as if it hadn’t been hoovered at all or properly. It just didn’t feel very clean but the bed was very comfy and the sheets were clean.
Staff were amazing, very attentive and helpful but the rooms are well past their best before date. The walls in the room were filthy and looks like grease all over them. Our window was minging and you couldn’t see out of it. The room was stifling but I asked for a fan and got a small one, better than nothing. The soap dispenser had dust all around it and no other amenities in the bathroom, as described online.
No glasses to drink out of, just 2 mugs. A few tea bags and one packet of (2) biscuits between 2 of us. The carpets all need replacing throughout the hallways and the room.
It served its purpose but would I go back, probably not.
As I said, the staff were lovely and it had a busy bar, there were no other bars around so that helps.

Stayed for one night - got the train from nearby Longbridge to Villa Park stadium. Arrived at midnight and check in guy was very helpful, he opened the bar to sell me a drink I needed. Room was fine, big bed. Hotel is a bit worn around the edges but ok. Breakfast was a bit slow, it was a buffet but the one girl working there served everyone one at a time which took a while when there was a queue. Would be better to let us serve ourselves. Ample free parking. Fine as a place to sleep.
The room was quite outdated, and the shower in the bathroom leaked on the floor slightly. Also, when we ate in the restaurant they didn’t ask if anyone had any allergies.
Overall, the staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean.
Stay was excellent in the main. Staff very helpful at reception, bar and breakfast on first day. Food and service in the evening and first morning was excellent. The second day breakfast let it down a little- service changed from table service to a buffet- food was not as hot as it could have been, tea was stewed and toaster didn’t toast very well. Would however return- location ideal to get to motorway and also to get train into city centre.
Not the best, not the worst. Definitely needs some updating, decorating and cleaning, especially in the bathroom.
The staff were lovely, check in was quick and easy!
Cannot comment on food as we didn’t eat in the restaurant. Not worth the £75 asking price for the night.
The hotel is ok. Very basic. A fridge in the room would be ideal. Also extra toilet roll. Cheap 1 roll toilet roll was not enough. Shower quite weak and did not stay in the holder well.
On the plus side room is large with a huge bed. Everything was very clean. Little touches could be done to improve and make a big difference. Food was very overpriced for what it was. However the staff were lovely.
