How close is Downtown Crossing, Affordable Stay, Book Now! to the airport?
This apartment is 5.5 mi (20-min drive) away from the Boston, MA (BNH-Boston Harbor Seaplane Base) airport, the closest popular airport to the property.
Overall I loved the stay, I like how we are in the heart around everything, it made everything better as well as being able to walk to and from certain places was worth it. A few minor things is that the ceiling would leak once and a while in the bathroom, and the shower water would go hot to cold every other minute, the couch could use a deep scrub, it did have stains but other than those I did enjoy my stay.
As far as the property itself goes, it was great for what we needed. It's no frills, but comfortable. The location, however, cannot be beat!! From the adorable coffee shop directly across the street, to the endless number of fantastic restaurants on the block, we never lacked options for early mornings or late night gnosh and cocktails. Within one block of multiple T stations and Boston Common, this might be our new go-to place to stay when we visit Boston. Note: if you're a light sleeper, bring some earplugs. The sounds of the city WILL be heard at night (didnt bother us, but it's a reality).
The room was very clean. It was ready when they said it would be ready. When I inquired about a hairdryer, they had one delivered to the room immediately no fault of the host, it can get a little noisy in the middle of the night on the weekends. The bed was very comfortable.
I didnât read the reviews until after I booked, and it was too late to cancel. Communication was excellent with the owner. I just did not want to take a chance staying here with the reviews about loud music and other street noise throughout the night and other things.
Iniially we had mixed reviews. Through no fault of the property there was a downpour when we arrived and immediately above the awning of this building is a blocked drain which dumps lots of water of anyone trying to get in the door! We loved the three door codes for access which made it feel very safe. Inside it was clean and reasonably equiped although it lacked any hangers to hang up clothes and the shower never really worked to give us hot water or a decent flow. The noise from the street below is pretty constant through the night so not ideal if you are a light sleeper but ultimately the property is in an excellent central location and we walked almost everywhere, whether it be the freedom trail, the shops or great restaurants or the park it is all nearby.
The property is very rundown and I got awoken at 2 AM by loud rap music on the street. The bed is also very uncomfortable and there is no furniture to speak of in the sitting room where the TV is.I wonât stay here again.
The building had no central heat. They had plug-in Honeywell space heaters, and the space heaters kept tripping the electrical system. I had to sleep three nights in a row in winter clothes, and a winter your jacket and absolute disgrace for any human being. further, the units should also shut off when they got filled with water and maintenance. Forgot to come one day. Is there another night of no heat I think the building code enforcement people in Boston should be called about this.
Looked like a new sleek apartment but couldn't be farther from the truth. For starters, the AC/Heating unit in the room doesn't work. Heat doesn't work reliably at all and if you do manage to get it on, It only lasts a couple minutes before it trips the fuses. This was especially frustrating considering the old drafty windows which would make the bedroom area freezing cold. Secondly, the shower temperature was either freezing cold or boiling hot and had nearly 0 water pressure. The place could have been cleaner. The entire couch had urine like stains all over. I understand that boston is an old city and some buildings are outdated. But at least make the accommodations somewhat reliable.
The location was excellent! We were within walking distance to everything we wanted to do! Felt very safe. Had to go thru 2 locked doors to get to our room.
