Interior was tastefully done spaces homey, nice neighborhood+ they are super helpful even with carparks. They found me one 2 mins away for so cheap, which I was most impressed
The kitchen was fully equipped, and the place was very clean. It's conveniently located near universities and downtown, with everything within walking distance. However, I do wish there was an elevatorâcarrying luggage up to the fourth floor was quite a challenge. That said, the bed and sofa couch were comfortable, and we slept well.
The property itself was clean and generally well-maintained. However, communication with the staff was quite difficultâthey were hard to reach, and we experienced a long delay (a couple of hours) before receiving any response when we had trouble accessing the building.
A few important details were also not disclosed prior to booking. The property does not have an elevator or a concierge/front desk, which would have been helpful to know in advance.
We were also told the unit included a queen-sized pull-out couch, but it was noticeably smallerâcloser to a twin sizeâmaking it uncomfortable for more than one person.
One of the most significant issues was the noise level outside. While some reviews mentioned it being noisy, the volume and intensity were far beyond what we expected. It was extremely difficult to get any rest. Late at night, the area also felt unsafe. At around 2 a.m., we witnessed a riot outside the building, including a police car being set on fireâsomething that was both alarming and unsettling.
We enjoyed our stay at the Chester, the room was clean and decorated beautifully so it felt like a home rather than a hotel room. Iâd highly recommend the restaurant right next door, Mida, but make a reservation. If you need quiet this isnât the place for you as itâs near a busy intersection so there are frequent sirens and car noise but we got used to it and the positives definitely outweighed the negative!
This is a great spot. Near a busy intersection, so not quiet but slept well and really enjoyed the location. Beautiful room. Great communication from staff. Fast responses to all my questions.
Great stay, very clean, room aesthetic is beautiful, kitchenette with all necessities, proximity to a lot of good dining and coffee shops. Just be aware that it is not soundproof and . I will definitely always book for my Boston stays.
Excellent property, well appointed, clean and with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Close to public transportation and several restaurants and eateries nearby. Easy check in and out. The only negative is the city noise: sirens, traffic, etc. but that comes with the convenience of being in the city.
The historic brownstone had tremendous charm and was lovely. There was a problem with the heat not working and repeated requests for something to be done were met with conflicting information about possible repairs, but nothing was done. Luckily the temperatures rose during the day, which helped keep it a little more comfortable.
The hotel gave us the true feel of life in a Boston neighborhood. We had a little trouble figuring out how to switch from air conditioning to heat on one cool evening and never really got it to warm up. Also this was the first hotel room that weâve ever stayed at that had no live sports on the television. I guess we were supposed to stream it through our personal account. Nonetheless, our stay was great and the room served our purpose just fine.
I liked that it was in walking distance to Fenway Park and not far from other attractions.
The bed was comfortable but it is a little noisy. The people upstairs were up all hours of the night.
The water took a long time to heat up and was mostly lukewarm.
