Great Location, But the Hotel Needs Major Updates

I recently stayed at the Wyndham in the Beacon Hill area and wanted to share my experience. The biggest advantage of this hotel is definitely its location. It’s within walking distance to many of Boston’s most popular areas about 15–20 minutes to the North End, Quincy Market, and Boston Common. It’s also roughly a 35–45 minute walk (or a 10–12 minute drive) to the Prudential Center, Newbury Street, and the Seaport. For anyone who wants to explore the city on foot, the location is a major plus. However, the hotel itself leaves quite a bit to be desired. The carpet and bathrooms are clearly dated, while the bathroom had been recently recaulked, it still felt old and worn. The bed sheets had tears in the corners, which gave the room an unkempt feel. The shower drained very slowly, causing water to pool during use. Additionally, the hallways had a noticeable smoky odor that lingered. There are also some functional issues: the hotel has only two elevators, and they are often slow or crowded, which can be frustrating during peak hours. Overnight parking is available with in-and-out privileges, but it costs around $70 per night, something to keep in mind if you're driving in. On a positive note, the room lighting was good, and the water pressure in both the shower and sink was solid. Overall, if your top priority is location, this hotel delivers. But if you're looking for a more updated, comfortable, and better-maintained experience, you may want to explore others

The floor was wet in one area of the room, the air conditioner was very dirty and extremely loud and turned on/off every 10 minutes throughout the night, the pool deck was old and run down, construction and chaos outside the hotel was loud (not good sound proof for a city) and there was always a group of homeless people around the corner. One big positive was the location within walking distance to many things and located right next to Whole Foods for convience.

Staff was friendly, helpful and prompt to concerns we had. Location was great with easy access to Whole Foods and a Starbucks. We had issues with the shower/tub. When the shower ran, so did the faucet to the tub. The TV: we never got to work correctly ~ turning it on and off was a hassle even after a maintenance person came to try to fix. The location would make us return there again for another visit to Boston.

Upon arrival the staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful! Location was walkable to store, restaurants, bars and more. Outdoor pool was a nice addition.

The hotel was nice, the bed were hard as rocks though. Our bathroom fan also didnt turn on at all. The shower door was scraping along the track as well. In the morning there was ONE of 3 elevators running. We waited 15 minutes before we were able to go down. The stairs werent an option either as they didnt go down to the lobby.

The hotel was very outdated. In addition, I asked for an early check-in, which was 2:00 pm. Because we didn’t arrive until 3:00 pm, I was told it would only be $25. I just received my invoice and I was charged the full $50. The restaurant was also not very good. Had to send back both meals because they were wrong.

Great location.

We stayed overnight for a TD Garden concert. Quick walk to the venue, lots of option for food, great location. The AC unit was very loud. The overall hotel is a little old, could use some update.
