We stayed here a few times when it used to be the « Willard Street inn » and really enjoyed it.
We were eager to try the new concept of Lark hotels « Blind Tiger ».
Overall, we really missed the warmth of the service we used to have.
First, you have to ring a bell to get someone to greet you. A gentleman came down quickly. He explains it’s now a « self service » guest house. At 800$ usd (1100$ cad) for two nights, I was surprised to hear that and tought: « let’s give them a chance ».
Room #10 was small and the bed was not comfortable. No tv and no ironing board. No greeding attention, bath products made in China, etc. At a certain price, that is understandable but not at 400$ dollars/night.
First morning, we found out it’s a breakfast buffet. You eat in a lounge with a few table and couches. It used to be a full service breakfast with homemade and local freshly baked goods, eggs « à la carte », etc.
No employee available…
A couple having breakfast in the « lounge » were looking for staff. They tried to ring…No answer. They had to ask a lady in the kitchen for help.
Not sure this is the right product for the price. If you want to attract 20-30 year old people in a self service guest house maybe.
But unfortunately, as is, it needs improvements.
I spoke with Grace on Monday when we left. She was kind and listened. Hopefully, it will help.

The hotel is beautiful. Unfortunately, there was construction work on the street until midnight which was very noisy and prevented us from fully enjoying our stay .

We absolutely loved staying here and will do so again when we’re in the area! The property was amazing, the staff was welcoming and extremely attentive. Overall a 10/10! Thanks for an amazing trip, Blind Tiger!!

The B&B to be at...
Publié le 12 févr. 2024 sur HotelsBeautiful, elegant old Mansion property, with excellent , friendly staff, plenty of amenities, awesome views (from our room, the Treehouse). Comfortable, quiet and convenient to downtown, UVM & Champlain campuses. Only open a short time so far so a couple of bugs to work out, which likely vary by room (like no in-room climate control or closet/wardrobe in ours), but nothing to fret about. Highly recommended.

Great but clashing furniture
Publié le 7 janv. 2024 sur HotelsThe inn is a beautiful old Victorian with high ceilings and a gorgeous conservatory where you can eat breakfast. Hosts were all very nice. Breakfast was expanded Continental- breads, scones, yogurt, fresh fruit, prosciutto, lox, cheese. Room had a wonderful view of trees and Lake Champlain. Furniture was mostly elegant but then there were wooden chairs covered with graffiti, which really clashed. The side tables next to the bed were also modern- looked like dripping metal off the sides. This was right next to handsome burgundy wing chairs. Some of the floors had been sanded to a nude color, next to all the dark brown wood of the staircase. The new railings on the staircase had been neither painted nor sanded, which was a shame. Overall very good but the modern furniture and and paintings were disconcerting.
