Walnut Tree Cottage was originally the village school house built in the 1870's and now a comfortable and newly converted home situated in the Kent Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within walking distance of the village supermarket, pharmacy and 2 good pubs, this is the perfect place for a family holiday or weekend getaway with friends. Please note our lovely garden is shared with the guests in the cottage next door. 5 mins to Canterbury, 60 mins from London and 27 mins from the Eurotunnel exit. 10% discount for weekly bookings.

We have really enjoyed the place: nice and welcoming. Few issues with snails every evening. Upstairs very hot. Didn’t have nice sleep with heat. Couple of fans in the bedroom but didn’t help. No window screens to keep windows open to cool down the rooms at night to avoid an invasion of insects. I believe during cold weather, this location would be fine.

Merci James pour ce fabuleux séjour, votre accueil et votre disponibilité. De bons conseils pour faire de belles ballades au départ de la maison. Le cottage est trÚs confortable et d'une propreté impeccable. Rien ne manque et il est décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Le jardin est superbe, au calme. Nos enfants ont apprécié les jeux mis à disposition et l'aire de jeux en face de la maison. C'est un point de départ idéal pour se balader dans cette superbe région du Kent. Tout est à proximité. A ne pas manquer : le centre de Canterbury, Leeds Castle, le zoo Howletts, les villes en bord de mer, la campagne. Bref tout est réuni pour vous faire passer un moment exceptionnel. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. A trÚs bientÎt!

Everything was very comfortable, the check in and out without any complications. I can recommend this house warmly. The only thing it smells a little like dog guess there are often dogs in the main room and there is a big road nearby that you hear in the night. We loved the place outside we're you can sit. The kitchen isvwell equipped.

a very enjoyable break

Excellent spacious property, nicely situated within easy walk to pub and village shop. It is a great base for visits to the many nearby coastal resorts .If ,like us, you fancy tapas go to El SOL in beautiful Canterbury. Recommend a cross country walk to the Tadpole Cafe. Like to mention that cottage host James came across as a really nice fella.

Second stay just as lovely as the first!

The Walnut Tree Cottage is exactly how it's described in the details, as are the surroundings. It's comfy with lots of space, is well equiped and the garden is spacious, secluded and the fence is a plus for dog owners. We were so happy that our two Ridgeback boys weren't only tolerated but welcomed! Another big plus for dog owners is the lovely countryside with lots of options for hikes. James is a lovely guy and was always there when we had a question or asked a favor but other than that he aimed to let his guests have a quiet and unbothered stay. Seriously great host! Dear James, just like the first stay we felt so welcome. Thank you so much for another wonderful stay at your Walmut Tree Cottage!

Long weekend

Great property. Owner was helpfull and very pleasent. The property has a beautiful wood burner which heated the property as well as central heating.Large kitchen/dinning room/ sitting room so if cooking you do not feel left out from the rest of the group/ family. The garden was large garden fir Bbq would be great for BBQs.

HĂŒbsches Ferienhaus, nur die Sofas mĂŒssen erneuert werden

Ein schönes Objekt in einem alten Schulhaus, ins Erdgeschoss dĂŒrfen Hunde mitgenommen werden. Die beiden Sofas sind Ă€lter, vor allem das rote Sofa war komplett durchgesessen und "fertig", das muss wirklich ausgetauscht werden. Es gibt reichlich Spinnen und Spinnweben, ein altes Haus im Erdgeschoss und schattig. DIe Heizung funktioniert. James ist nicht da fĂŒr einige Monate. Seine Frau ließ uns herein und fragte, ob es ok sei, wenn sie tagsĂŒber das warme Wasser abstelle, die GĂ€ste zuvor hĂ€tten zuviel geduscht und den Boiler geleert. Und man brauche ja auch keine Heizung, be warmer Kleidung. GlĂŒcklicherweise hat es dann doch funktioniert, wir haben auch nicht viel verbraucht. Aber das Haus liegt schattig und ist nicht isoliert und das Wetter war frisch. Dieser Empfang war aber doch seltsam.

Beautiful cottage with huge garden

We all really loved staying in this wonderful cottage, it was really spacious and the living area was all open plan. Everything was provided from tea bags to toilet rolls and when we checked in it was really lovely and clean. The huge garden was amazing - our boys loved the swing and the foosball table in the games room. Out through the back gate there are great walks around the village which is lovely and quiet. Its fairly central location in Kent made it a great location to visit some wonderful seaside towns and the park and ride to Canterbury was just down the road. A lovely pace to stay!

A perfect little vacation :)

The Walnut Tree Cottage is cozy, clean and well appointed with a huge yard and exactly how the pictures show. James is a very nice guy and a great host! If you have any question, he'll answer ultra quickly and he has assembled a whole portfolio of information about Bridge, all great beaches and stuff. Got visit Botany Bay and Dumpton Gap (which is perfect if you have a dog). Dogs are not only tolerated but welcome, that's so wonderful! Our pup loved the yard! There's lots of footpaths around Bridge for nice hikes. We highly recommend the Red Lion Inn for a nice evening and good food. René and his Crew are lovely. Also if you like fish'n chips, check out the food truck opposite of the church on Thursday (you'll find the flyer in the portfolio James assembled :). Overall a perfect little vacation with a wonderful host. We'll come back ;) Thank you, James!

Fabulous and stylish

This amazing "barn conversion" is not to be missed. The property is fabulous, and superbly presented. It has everything you could need, and is put together exactly how it should be. If you have a dog, or want country walks in the Garden of England, this is the place. Bridge is a fabulous little village, with amazing dining options. James is a perfect gentlemen and could not be more helpful. This place is a solid 10.

Great cottage, great location.

The house was very clean and had everything you could need, very well equipped. Great family bathroom upstairs and shower room downstairs. Two bedrooms upstairs, one slightly larger than the other. Both had same size beds (a little small if you are a couple used to a King), comfortable and nice linens. A great location, close to Canterbury and surrounding villages. Great place to stay. Fantastic spacious property

As soon as we walked into the cottage we were surprised with how spacious it was. The garden and outdoor areas were fantastic and our 2 dogs loved having so much space to explore. As a family we also enjoyed making use of the rope swing and football table. There was everything we needed at the cottage. We were made to feel very welcome by our host. We genuinely loved our stay and would highly recommend this place. We are definitely planning on a return visit.

Quite cottage close to Canterbury

Charming cottage in a quiet village close to Canterbury. You will find one bedroom downstairs with bunk beds. The kitchen/living room area is very spacious. The kitchen is very well equipped. Upstairs, you have 2 double bedrooms and the main bathroom with a large shower and a bath. The outside space is shared with the cottage next door but you have your separate patio area and the use of the annex. James the owner is a lovely person, very responsive and really helpful. It was really nice to have met him. All in all, we've had a lovely time and we will definitely come back. Thanks again James for your hospitality.
