Nirvana is right on the beachfront at the beginning of Captiva Drive. The vacation house has a private, heated pool. This is a unique beachfront location on Captiva, where the shoreline of our tropical island curves. So the panoramic view is spectacular from your 120 feet of beach frontage! The area seems to abound with wildlife, especially the playful porpoise.

Nirvana has three bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa in the living room, for up to 8 guests. The big porch overlooks the beach, so you can watch sunsets, dolphins, sea birds, and gentle waves. Let the sound of the gentle surf soothe you to sleep at night in tranquil Nirvana!

Overall, this is a wonderful spot. The house is spacious, the view is phenomenal, and it has a homey comfort feel. However, as other reviewers have noted ( and the property manager) the house is showing its age inside & out. Doors are jammed, paint is peeling, the pool & hot tub are chipped, rust is throughout, the furnishings are dated & worn. However, even with these irregularities, we had a great time and re-booked for next year ( with the promise of renovations),

Overall the property fit the use case for a family with two kids: A spacious house, a well-equipped kitchen for eating in, and right on the beach. The asset is a little tired around the edges, though, and badly needs paint and an upgrade in mattresses. It's not something you mind terribly when there for a week it does factor in when thinking about a second reservation. Regarding some comments from other reviews: Bugs/insects were not an issue at all. Future renters would be well advised, though, to bring in all food before they cross the bridge (including salt and pepper!). Shopping on the islands is expensive and it takes a strangely long time to travel small distances.

Location can't be beat... House is becoming a little dated....but, we spent almost all of our time out on the back deck or on the beach anyway, so who minds some outdated furniture and decor? :-) The screened in deck is perfect!
