The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. But the room was humid even with the large fan running. It's also not really a quiet place, but it is literally across the street from the castle and the stadium, and Bute Park is wonderful and nearby. However, there are NO laundromats close by, unless you consider a mile walk in 0 degrees and a north wind "close." There is a lift, but it is inoperable. It has been inoperable for quite some time. There was also some question of when the room would be cleaned. I never figured out the schedule, although the workers are lovely and friendly.

The staff are all great, but the lift was broken which made it a bit of a fuss trying to haul a baby and suitcases down the stairs. Thats the only reason why we deducted a star because it wasnt fixed for the 3 days we were there. Otherwise, really enjoyed the stay and would be back again!

First of all the lift was OOD. Although they offdered to take for me there was a huge queue and an overworked bloke who i couldnt add any pressure to, especially needing bag asap. Headboard fell down almost catching back kf my head, would of been more fuming if it was my child. Room was boiling hot, fan on winows open, then the noise. Yes its a city but a hotel of this status should have long term solutions. Beds were so uncomfortable my child asked to go home which is what we did at 1am. The room was outdated, window ropes broken. Heated towel rack not working, lights were a mission to even go for a wee at night as they all work dofferent things. Great to joke about but not at midnight. The list could go on. Fully expect a refund as im disappointed ive not been contacted since i stormed out the hotel last night when i requested i be called. I remained calm but sterm of my annoyance but to be ignored has really frustrated me. We had ambitions to come back and try your suites one day but since then plans have gone

Good choice for breakfast, room clean and comfortable. Only complaint is that the elevator was not working and although they had a porter to carry luggage for people in their 70s and 80s having to use the stairs was hard. Check in and service staff were very helpful and friendly

Lifts weren't working. Room was cold all night as we had no central heating. The plug in heater wasn't adequate for the room size. There was no hot water in the evening so we had a cold shower. We were told there was parking available on site. There wasn't so we had to pay overnight parking fee of £36. Decor and facilities in the room were extremely old fashioned and in desperate need of a upgrade. All in all a terrible experience and I would not recommend

We have stayed at the Angel hotel several times but our room this time was amazing. It was a family room, very spacious, two large separate bedrooms with a communal seating area. It was very clean, beds were comfy & there were tea & coffee making facilities. Although the bathroom was clean it was a little bit run down in need of some tlc. Will definitely be requesting this room in future.

A lovely stay as usual. Had help getting my case to the room due to the lift not working, this was invaluable, i would have never managed on my own. Bed was comfortable, room was immaculate. Slight damp smell from the bathroom but other than that all perfect.
