Local Stone Cottage With Shared Pool, Casal Velino, Italy
The region of Cilento has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with good reason. This stone cottage is in the heart of the Cilento National Park. The cottage is part of Agriturismo San Giorgio, a former farm. One of 3 sensitively restored cottages, with a shared pool, it sleeps 5 people in comfort. The property offers total peace and quiet for the ultimate escape.
The mild climate means that guests can enjoy indoor/outdoor living for most of the year. The cottage has a semi-shaded terrace, which is furnished with a sofa and armchairs. There is an outdoor dining area with a table and chairs and a BBQ. Indoors, the kitchen is just off the airy dining room and is equipped with a cooker hob, oven, fridge, freezer and a Nespresso coffee machine as well as a table and chairs for indoor meals.
The communal areas have been carefully considered and guests can enjoy many attractive outdoor seating areas. There is also a shaded games area with table tennis and table football. The fenced-off swimming pool is surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers and an outdoor seating area. There is a separate garden with a childrenâs play area.

The ancient fishing village of Agropoli (30 minutes), is famous for its stunning, pristine beaches. Agropoli is surrounded by impressive city walls and its medieval streets, with pretty squares and excellent restaurants make an ideal day out. Whilst the ancient Roman ruins of Paestum, are only 40 minutes away.
For self-catering, visitors should go to the weekly (Thursday morning) market in southern Agropoli, where they will find a wide range of local produce, fresh fish and other delicacies as well as clothes and homewares. There are also supermarkets and other shops nearby.
Naples airport is a 1 hour, 55-minute drive from the apartment.
