Mini vacation

Room was comfortable and clean. Two eateries connected. Pastry place was to die for. Went to two MBL games and many sites in Chicago. We enjoyed!

This was placed perfectly for our stay. Walking distance to our venue, clean, near transit and walking hubs. Safe, good food options nearby. It is a heritage building so a little light in amenities but we knew that going in so I can’t say that was a miss. Great stay!

The shower and phone didn’t work in our first room, and I’m pretty sure the ceiling was water damaged. The water didn’t drain well in our second room and the ceiling also looked water damaged. The booking said custom breakfast sent to the room and that was not true. Breakfast was the same every day and you had to dine in. Not the best experience.

The stay was great. Couldn't beat the location, the service, or the price. My only issue was security. I would've liked to have seen needing a room key to get in the building after a certain time. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

On a positive note, the staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was clean. There were people walking around all day wiping down surfaces. The sheets were clean and the bed and pillows were decent. The valet was great. That being said, the pictures online are deceiving. The hotel is old and not well kept. There were several spots where the wallpaper was falling off the walls. The shower was cracked and being held together by the curtain rod which made the shower curtain too short. Because of that the bathroom flooded when we took showers. We had to use all our towels to mop up the water off the bathroom floor. Most of the power outlets were black which made me think they might have caught fire at some point and they didn’t replace the plastic cover…or the wiring? It served its purpose for an overnight place to rest and was in the perfect location to the park but I wouldn’t stay there again.

It was a little shabby. It would be better if they would use actual plates and silverware for breakfast - the amount of waste used with the paper plates and plastic silverware was alarming.

Positives: Bed was super comfy and the staff was lovely. Close to Northerly Island. Next to Paris baguette. Negatives: Thin, old (really old) towels. No handheld shower. Narrow bathroom. Super-thin toilet paper. Hotel and rooms are showing their age. Rooms need fresh paint.

Cheaper than others and fine for a family stay

Overall, the room is tiny and dated. One bed is pushed up against the wall. The other is not even 6 inches from the cooler. The accessibility to the parks and proximity to Museum Campus is nice. Parking is $58 and is valet. I don’t think it's acceptable to pay that much and then have to tip valet. I could have self-parked and not waited for valet each time.

Clean room, good AC, but the best part is the location! A short walk away from the field museum, planetarium, and aquarium. Lots of great restaurants nearby, and a bakery right across the hallway. I asked last minute about my room being ready a little early and they were very kind, did everything they could to be able to accommodate. Will stay here again
