If you’re looking to truly get away, this newly updated home—nestled on a magical rocky outcrop overlooking beautiful Clear Lake—is the perfect retreat. Take in sweeping panoramic lake views and watch migrating birds pass through the sky.
Unwind on the private deck, shaded by mature oak trees, and enjoy the sight of ospreys gliding below. The home also makes an ideal base for adventure. Just 20 minutes away, Mendocino National Forest offers endless outdoor activities, including mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and hunting.
The house is serviced by a natural surface well water system. During warmer months, the water may have a mild natural sulfur scent. The water is safe, fully filtered, and backwashed daily. You may occasionally hear water cycling through the system from the laundry room during these backwash periods.
A peaceful, nature-immersed escape—perfect for relaxation, exploration, and reconnecting with the outdoors.

Wonderful getaway with our kids to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful views. Kids both loved catching big fish right off the dock - we spent all day down there hanging out. We stocked up on groceries before arriving and the house had everything we needed to cook and stay put. We also loved spotting birds around the area - so many! Very special family time! Thank you

What an amazing place! We didn't know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. The property is off the beaten path and very quiet. Although you have neighbors nearby, it feels very secluded. When you walk in you're greeted by one of the prettiest vistas. You're high off the lake so you can see a 180 degree view of the beautiful lake. Private dock. The rooms and kitchen are very clean. Comfy beds. Washer & Dryer room. Plenty of parking. Would definitely stay here again.

This house has fantastic views and it’s very clean! It’s one of the cleanest house we have stayed in. The beddings and towels’ quality are very good and not scratchy. The host provided more than enough towels, complimentary snacks & wines as well as fishing equipment. The kitchen is also fully stocked with coffee and cooking condiments, with complete kitchen utensils. It is very quiet and peaceful. The view is amazing and we cannot wait to come back again! We would definitely be booking again, specially in the summer as the private fishing dock is convenient. It is in a safe and quiet neighborhood.

Amazing place to get away from the city and relax! Absolutely loved our time here. Everything was clean, with a well equipped kitchen. Our pup loved playing in the water. We brought our paddle boards, but the waves were a bit too big. Quincy was great and super responsive to all our questions during the stay. Promptly dropped by when the doorlock battery was running low. As advertised in the property listing, the water has a strong smell of sulfur, so I’d recommend bringing jugs of bottled water for your stay. Would love to come back, with fishing rods and some binoculars next time (so many birds!!!).

Honestly I could see myself living at the property. It was modern, new, clean, comfortable, well appointed, offered incredible views of the lake, and felt remote when in all actuality we were very close to town. We loved fishing off the private pier and being able to bring our golden retriever along! We read reviews about the water smelling like sulfur but we didn’t experience it ourselves. The bed was comfortable, the showers hot, and I’ll be back!

Great location, newly renovated house, management was very responsive and helpful, only issue is the sulphur smell in the water. It’s hard to drink the water or take shower with such a strong smell. Hope they fix it somehow. Otherwise an outstanding place with amazing views right from inside the house

Peaceful Location, Incredible View

We had an amazing weekend here! We went in early October so the lake was extremely quiet and peaceful. A lot of times pictures on listings look better than the real thing, in this case I think it's the other way around! It's hard to capture in pictures the nearly 270 degree view from the living and dining room, it's beautiful. Clear Lake can also get really hot but even in the middle of a heat wave we were quite comfortable between the house being well shaded, and the AC in the rooms. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes and spices, and even some complimentary snacks, which is extra helpful since town and the nearest restaurants are a good 15-20 min away. For those like me who always want to know the coffee setup, there is a Keurig (they supply coffee and tea pods!) and a French press. Wifi is quite spotty, but cell service is good, so we were fine just don't plan to rely on internet. The kayak launch is a bit hidden, down a narrow path past the dock around a large rock, but we were able to take our inflatable SUP down (brought our own, not provided) and had a great time on the lake. The path is fairly narrow and steep so if we had anything larger or heavier, it might have been tricky, but it was great to have access. The dock is also perfect for fishing, or in our case sitting over the lake :) The host was also very responsive before and during our stay! We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to others.

Wonderful quiet get away

We had a lovely time at this VRBO! The views from the back deck or unbelievable at night we slept in, so I never saw the sunrise, but loved all of the amenities. We loved being able to walk down and fish on our own dock. It had trees that overhang so we could sit in the shade down below while we fished. At night the wind would pick up and give us a gentle breeze. Super private, which we loved. We caught several bass for us. It was catch and release. Windows all around. It would be nice to have some shades on some of the windows so that you could block out the bright sun but other than that it was an incredibly delightful experience. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

The home was nice. Great space and nice and quiet. Unfortunately I’m not sure I would stay again as there’s an issue with the water. I don’t feel like it was clearly explained what the issue is but you can’t drink the water and several of us were skeptical about showering due to the strong smell.

The property is a gem. Immaculate and well stocked. Away from the hustle and noise. The views are beatiful and calm. We enjoyed identifying the birds but forgot our binoculars! Our host was helpful getting us settled in. Great stay!

Amazing beautiful location, perfect for birders.

The location of this house is stunning. It's on a peninsula that sticks out in to Clear Lake, and then it itself is on its own little rocky promontory that sticks out from the peninsula. The house is about 50 feet up from the lake. The upshot of this is that you get an amazing view of the lake from sunrise to sunset, and due to it sticking out to the lake a bit, a lot of the local birds use the updraft it creates. The bird life is fantastic! We saw Bald Eagles, an Osprey, a Red-tailed Hawk, a California Quail, Turkey Vultures, Black-chinned Hummingbirds, Acorn Woodpeckers, a Bullock's Oriole, Cormorants, Mallards, Barn and Tree swallows, Northern Mockingbirds, and Western Grebes. We also saw deer! The Swallows were our constant companions when relaxing outside, flitting about in the updrafts all day, and the Turkey Vultures would glide past several times an hour. They are magnificent viewed up close! The house itself has pretty modern decor, very comfortable recliners, and a well-stocked kitchen. The water is filtered from the lake itself - some people reported it having an unpleasant smell, but we didn't really notice that. The mattresses on the bed are a bit on the firm side, but we found them comfortable. Anyway, I would totally go there again.
